Happy summer! We had a great 2024/25 school year and are already busy planning our next school year. We have the wonderful problem of most of our classes being full. If you are interested in attending next year and have a student between the ages of 5 and 12, please contact us and we put you on a wait list. We DO HAVE SPACE for a few students in our 13+ class! Please share with your homeschooling friends and contact me for registration info!

As we all prepare for school, what is one physical item that is an absolute must have?!

We offer a "full curriculum" science and history class option for kids ages 7-12. This is the curriculum we will be using this year. A reading schedule will be given out for you to do assignments at home and then during co-op we will do a fun activity or experiment to build off what you have been learning at home. And even if you aren't doing the curriculum at home, the class will be fun and stand alone!

What does a normal day at co-op look like?

First we begin all together at 9am in opening with prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, song memory verse songs and birthdays.

Then each of the age groups rotates between 3 classes. First may have either have art or gym class to learn to play a game or skill like badminton, weight lifting, obstacle course, tag or gymnastics; or learn and practice a new art skill like stamping, pottery, or painting.

During this time the preschoolers may be doing a story time and a craft.

Then we all take a break for a snack and visit together as friends and families.

The kids may then have a special interests class which could be anything from a book club, to show and tell, to sewing, wood shop, baking or robotics! We encourage parents to teach classes on their special interests and maybe spark a new interest in one of their students!

The final class is either a science or history class. For the youngest students that may look like a story time or nature walk with a hands on activity. For the middle students we have full curriculum options and will be studying animals and botany this coming year and will almost always include a hands on experiment. During history we will continue on to Story of the World Vol 3 and Explore the New World with Leif Ericsson, Christopher Columbus, and others; discover the amazing story of the U.S. from colonial times to the California gold rush; and learn about the courage and faith of many who came to America. We especially enjoy "eating" our way through history and do many hands on activities. And for the high school students we have current events classes planned and learning about local PA history!

Finally we eat lunch together and work together to clean up the church and tear down classrooms.

We also plan on taking field trips together throughout the year and will announce those as they are planned?

Every class is led by a parent and has at least one or two other parents in the class helping. None of these classes are possible without the parents volunteering and we encourage you to think about a class you would enjoy sharing the students at co-op because we still have open class time slots that need to be filled 😊
