Wow kiddos! I hope you have had a wonderful summer! I can’t wait for your first grade teachers to meet you next week! As my last kindergarten class you will ALWAYS have a VERY special place in my heart! I know you will learn so much in first grade and love your new teachers! I personally am SO excited to learn new things this year as a second grade teacher!!!
I asked for this new adventure and am so happy Mrs Mytinger said yes!!! I know we are ALL going to have a wonderful year learning and growing at Whipple! I can’t wait to see your smiling faces at open house on Monday August 15 between 5:30 & 6:30! You guys are ready for a new learning adventure and so am I!!!

At the end of each day of learning in kindergarten we sing “a b c-ya later”! We filmed this on our last day!

We had a great time exploring the 3 forms of water, building with ice cubes & salt, playing with indoor snow, making tricky word snowballs for a snowball reading blizzard, sorting kids by outfit colors, building habitats for Arctic animals & listening to snowy stories! Yep, I know it’s May, but we missed out on a polar picnic day this January… so I decided to have it this week! It was “snow” much fun!

Last week our classroom became a cozy campsite! We called it “camp read a lot”!! The kids loved reading in the tent with their flashlights! We also made S’More memories by roasting hot dogs and marshmallows around the “fire” we built!

Too cute not to share! Our little scientists put on their lab coats and were out exploring nature and then writing about what they found in their journals! I love how they were sharing ideas and gathering to figure out a problem… after much discussion they ALL concluded it was a spider, because it had 8 legs!

It has been lots of fun to watch our “grass hair” grow! Students know that for the seeds to grow they need soil, water and sun … these grew so well they are ready for a haircut ! I hope they all made it home safely … enjoy doing their hair ☺️

Who can paint like Pablo Picasso??? Our kindergarten class can … well… only under the amazing instruction of one of our students grandmas! The kids all call her CC! Thank you Claudia for helping us learn about Picasso… and create beautiful artwork! Bryar and all of her classmates LOVED having you as our guest teacher!

The darling pictures of our zoo adventure are starting to come in from parents! We had THE BEST DAY EVER singing in the rain and dancing for the animals! The positivity of everyone was simply awesome!!! I’ll keep adding pictures in new posts as they come in! Thank you to everyone who made this day so wonderful for our kids! You have truly touched my heart!!
