🌟 Music lessons benefit kids and adults differently — but powerfully 🌟

For children: It builds focus, creativity, and emotional expression during crucial development years.

For adults: It becomes a joyful escape, reduces stress, and reignites that creative spark we often lose.

I’ve seen busy professionals light up after their first lesson in years. And kids gain confidence that carries into school and life.

Whether you’re choosing for yourself or your child, music meets you where you are.

What age group are you most curious about for lessons? Or what stage are you in? Share below 👇

💥 The real secret behind every “talented” musician 💥

It’s not magic or natural genius. It’s showing up consistently — even when it’s messy.

I teach my students to treat practice like brushing teeth: short, daily, and non-negotiable. Ten focused minutes beats an hour of distracted playing.

When you fall in love with the process, the progress follows naturally.

Parents and adults: what’s your biggest struggle with consistent practice? Let’s talk solutions 👇

🌟 What people don’t see about teaching music 🌟

It’s not just notes on a page.

It’s helping a stressed adult unwind after work.
It’s building a shy teen’s confidence.
It’s watching a child discover they can create something beautiful.

Some days I’m exhausted. Other days I’m in awe of how far my students have come.

If you’re considering music lessons, know this: you’re not just learning an instrument. You’re investing in a better version of yourself.

What do you hope music would bring into your life (or your child’s)?

💥 Real talk: This student almost quit after 3 weeks. 💥

They were frustrated, comparing themselves to others, and ready to walk away.

We adjusted the songs to music they actually loved, shortened practice sessions, and focused on celebrating small wins.

Six months later? They’re performing in front of family and can’t stop smiling when they play.

Six years later Seath is an apprentice and beginning guitar teacher at Senchant's Art of Teaching!! Read more about him here — https://senchant.com/team/seath-mcsheffrey/

This is why I teach — watching that spark turn into a flame.

If you’re a parent or student feeling stuck, there’s hope. The right approach makes all the difference.

✨ 3 Things I Wish Every New Music Student Knew ✨

1. Progress > Perfection. The messy practice sessions matter most.
2. Short, daily practice beats long, sporadic sessions every time.
3. The right teacher will challenge you while making it fun.

Music should feel rewarding, not punishing.

If you’re a parent or adult thinking about lessons, these three truths will save you so much frustration.

Which one surprises you most? Or what’s your biggest worry about starting?
