For a hands-on math lesson Ms Sara’s class opened up a pie pumpkin, and dug out the strands, and seeds. They then estimated how many seeds were in the pumpkin. They counted up the seeds and over 500 were added up! In the small groups they worked as a team and separated the seeds from the strands. 🎃 They not only worked on math and estimating, teamwork and social interactions, but also on fine motor skills.
Afterward the class took the seeds to the Functional Living Center and with the help from Ms. Whitney toasted them
