It’s a hole in one for this week’s Pioneer Spotlight!

Congratulations to Jami Brighty ‘00, who was named Head Men’s Golf Coach at Wheaton College. Jami played golf during his time at Malone, and spent time as a PGA Professional after college. Most recently, he spent time coaching at a high school in Illinois where his team went to three consecutive state championships.

“I want students to feel what it means to collaborate, support one another, and create something meaningful together,” said Bevington. “Music has that exact capability to bring people closer, working towards a common goal. In an ensemble, every individual matters, and every voice contributes to something greater than itself. Watching students grow in empathy, confidence, and respect for one another through face-to-face connections is what I am most excited to nurture in this generation.”

“I once heard the phrase, ‘Your life may be the only Bible someone ever reads,’” Barkan said. “While these words were deeply convicting at first, they have become a guiding principle for me, especially in a public school setting. I find this generation deeply seeking connection, and I see that before students can fully engage in learning, they need to feel safe, valued, and seen.”

Recently, Malone’s honey and lip balm were entered into the Stark County Fair, where the honey placed first in the Novice Division, and the lip balm placed second in its category.

The honey was collected from the Malone Apiary with the help of our Beekeeping class, along with the lip balm, which utilized a local supply of beeswax and honey.

When it comes to our honey, we mean “beesiness!” 🐝

Cheering on Pioneer John Jones for his recent appointment of Vice President of Residential Services of Morselife!

John has spent most of his career in Senior Living services, bringing more than three decades to this position. He graduated from the Malone College Management Program (MCMP) in 1993.

In a press release, John mentioned that "Our priority across MorseLife must always start with the people who call our communities home… My focus is to listen directly to our residents and staff so we can continuously improve daily life across all of our communities."

Congratulations to John on this accomplishment–the Pioneer community is cheering you on as you continue showing Christ’s love through serving residents at MorseLife.
