Also known as the Festival of Colors, the Festival of Spring, and the Festival of Love, Holi is a celebration during which people famously throw colorful powder and water at one another!
Holi is primarily a Hindu festival, celebrated by followers of the Hindu religion. However, people from all kinds of backgrounds and religions around the world are encouraged to have fun and take part in the Holi celebrations!
This is a great opportunity to teach students about colors. This is a good time to explore color mixing or rainbows. Celebrating Holi helps kids gain self-confidence about their own stories, and cultures, and develop empathy and understanding of others.
Happy Holi!
