Thank you for taking the time to write out the encouragement note and send it back in! These kids are so lucky to have such a huge support system. While I know they are ready and will do amazing, a test score will never define them. They are artists, athletes, musicians, and animal lovers. They are kind, empathetic, friendly, and compassionate. They are many things, and those many things will always be far more important than a score. π₯°π₯°π₯°

Every year I do "Rock the Test" bags for the state tests. They just include a few goodies like gum, mints, a fresh pencil, and a small container of play dough to help relieve any testing anxiety. I just finished up my homeroom tonight, and tomorrow I will put together the bags for Mr. Boggs' class! Please send in your encouragement card so that I can add it to their "Rock the Test" bag. Thank you so much for your support!

Happy Easter to all my current and former families! I hope you've had a wonderful break! Here are a couple of important reminders:
π£Our first day back is Monday, April 5th.
π·Please send back their signed report card envelopes and Friday Folder on Monday.
π£If they completed their Spring Break Reading Practice/Extra Credit for the prize they selected last week, it's due on Monday.
π·Don't forget to get those baby/toddler pictures sent in to the email address on the paper that was in your child's report card. All pictures are due by Friday, April 16th. πΈ
π£I will send home the parent letter about our Cereal Box Book Report on Monday (the info was also sent out on Remind earlier this week). Wrapped cereal boxes with the optional supplies can come in anytime starting Monday. :)
π·State AIR Reading Tests April 15th and 16th. It's really important for students to be present these next 2 weeks as we get ready to rock the test! We will be having our huge Ice Cream Sundae Party on Friday afternoon after we take our last Reading AIR Test. Thank you to everyone who has sent in goodies for this party and/OR signed up to send stuff in! Your support is so appreciated, and the kids absolutely deserve that party!π¨π¦π¨
π£Our last Kindness Club meeting of the year WILL BE IN PERSON!! Miss Self approved it last week, and more information, along with a permission slip, will be coming home soon! π
Let me know if you have questions about any of the above, or need help with the picture information! We are down to the last 2 months of school, and they're going to be GREAT!ππ

We will be making "bunny baskets" this week for Easter in my homeroom. If you'd be willing to send in some Easter candy by Wednesday (so it can quarantine for a few days) to help stuff the baskets with, it would be greatly appreciated! I'm just trying to throw in some fun before we're off for Spring Break! π£π·π°π¦πΏ

Today we did a fortune cookie analysis! The fortunes in cookies are similar to the themes/life lessons that we analyze in stories, and are also usually great examples of figurative language. Each student was given a cookie, and then they had to read their fortune and think about the life lesson it was trying to teach them. I taped their fortune to the top of the paper and they wrote their analysis underneath. I absolutely LOVED reading these, and I thought you'd enjoy them too! We've worked hard on this skill, and I'm proud of their effort on these!

We had some fun today working on St. Patrick's Day idioms, learning about the myths surrounding the holiday, and doing some scratch art on our own clovers! Fun day! We also, as of today, have raised $342.55 in 4th Grade to help our fellow Knapp family. Can we make it to $500???? I bet we can! πππ

WOW! I was completely blown away by the support from both classes today towards our coin drive! Fourth Grade donated a total of $90.81 today! Students can bring coins in all week, and I'll keep updating everyone on the amount we've raised. Remember, I'll match them to $100, and all money raised will be given to a Knapp family who lost their home recently in a fire. Great job 4th Grade! ππ

This week, our building will be doing a coin drive to help out a fellow Knapp student and his family who lost everything in a fire a few days ago. You know how important giving to those in need is to me, so I will match all 4th Grade donations brought in up to $100. So dig out that change and let's help this family! The note below will go home with my students tomorrow! π
