Students recently joined biologist Claire Burkum from St. Lawrence University for a fungi-focused walk through the Extension Learning Farm’s sugar bush. They learned about the important role fungi play in agriculture and the environment, then headed into the woods to identify species firsthand. With plenty of wet weather this season, there was no shortage of fungi to discover!

A big THANK YOU to Claire for sharing her expertise and helping students uncover the hidden world of fungi right in our own backyard!

Ag Studies Academy Garden Refresh in Full Bloom! 🌱

Ag Academy students rolled up their sleeves to transform the garden space from the ground up. They removed the old raised beds, carefully preserved the existing soil, graded the area with sand and installed landscape fabric before rebuilding the beds with new lumber.

With fresh compost and soil in place, students immediately got to work seeding and transplanting tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers - bringing new life to the garden and setting the stage for a thriving growing season!
