The Georgia Master Gardener Extension Volunteer Program is a
volunteer training program offered through county offices of the
University of Georgia Cooperative Extension. Through this
program, individuals are trained and certified in home horticulture,
gardening, and related areas. These individuals, in turn, volunteer their expertise and services,
under the direction of their County Extension

It’s snake season — and not all snakes are bad! The Eastern Kingsnake is one of Georgia’s most beneficial snakes because it helps control populations of venomous snakes. These beautiful black-and-white patterned snakes are nonvenomous and protected by law in the state of Georgia, making it illegal to kill them.
