Our new greenhouse has just been completed! Chidlren enjoyed watching construction over our first few weeks of the summer program. Here are some photos from our beginning time together.
If you hear of anyone looking for a fall program, we have a few limited spaces still available for the 26-27 academic year.

This year’s annual “Museum Night” at Learning Circle Preschool celebrated childhood creativity and learning through the arts. Museum Night children and families alike the opportunity to gain an appreciation of the powerful learning that happens when children participate in an on-going integrated arts curriculum.
Children use drawing, painting, collage, construction, and modeling to learn about their world. When children create physical representations of the things they know, then they can better understand them.
When art experiences are embedded in the early childhood curriculum, children are offered*:
• Experiences that enhance creativity and experimentation
• A way through which to express personal ideas through
symbols and images
• A way to reveal moods and feelings through symbols
• A way to see a problem and it’s parts, and make decisions
that work on solving that problem
• Time for extended dialog and communication about
personal processes, feelings, and needs with the
important adults who support children
• Opportunities to reflect on and discuss completed works of
one’s own, as well as those of peers, professional artists,
and those from other cultures
• Encouragement to link knowledge and experiences with
communication in concrete ways
• Opportunities to learn through all the senses
• Opportunities to compare, order, measure, make patterns,
and make associations
• Opportunities to develop language and writing skills
• A powerful vehicle to integrate knowledge about the world
via the visual arts, language arts, literature, social
studies, mathematics, science, music, and movement
Learning Circle Preschool serves children 2.9 – 6 during the academic year and in July’s Summer Arts and Sciences program. For information and to arrange for a tour of our space please call Katrina Selawsky (Director) at (781) 828-4800

Children enjoyed a presentation by North Winds recently. Having professional musicians play, talk about the instruments, and invite the children to participate is a wonderful enhancement of our music programs at LCP!

This concert is part of the Opening Door Project https://www.openingdoorsproject.org/ American folk music, like all folk music, is rooted in tradition. But the form is constantly evolving, with songwriters reworking older songs to tell new stories. In this lively, upbeat performance full of participatory singing and dancing, Alastair Moock https://www.openingdoorsproject.org/bios/alastair-moock/educator introduces children to a diverse group of American musicians who have used folk music to teach lessons, chronicle history, champion causes, celebrate victories, and simply make people happy.

We recently enjoyed a presentation of The 3 Little Pigs with Dream Tale Puppets. Enrichment programs like this one enhance our capacity to support children's storytelling and personal puppet and dramatic retellings of familiar and/or composed tales. Watching the puppet show, and then having opportunities to use the puppets and props was a wonderful experience!

Playground Renovation
We’ve now had 2 seasons to use our newly renovated playground (the first phase was completed in the fall of 2025) and continue to explore ways that good design can deepen the children’s connections to the natural world and enhance our capacity to support free exploration and investigation outdoors. LCP was founded 20 years ago with a strong commitment to the natural sciences in mind – our location at the foot of Great Blue Hill, offers a wealth of opportunities to engage with nature....

We had a great turnout for our recent Open Door Day that featured activities relating to young children's mathematical thinking. After a brief discussion with families about what math looks like in early childhood, sharing some ideas about ways important grownups can best support children's thinking and learning, family members spent the morning in the classrooms playing with children and looking for math in spontaneous play. Thanks to all who had the time to partcipate!
