What an awesome day! We had over 90 kids apply to at least one college today! The admissions reps said it was the busiest Apply to College day they have seen!

Not only will you be able to apply to college for free, there will be multiple college admissions reps there to help you complete your application.

I'm proud to announce the winners of the 2022 Horror Short Story Competition.

We had over thirty entries of all sorts of horror. We have some very talented students at CHS! I'm proud to award $1,000 to the winning writers later this week!

Special thanks to Cantrece Carlan and Carmen Tanner Slaughter for once again putting their nerves on the line to help judge each story. There were moments where their sanity was certainly at risk! 🤣👻

The college Probe Fair will be at Cherokee High School with about 75+ colleges represented. Monday, 10/24, from 6-8pm, all grades welcome (North gym and cafe).

We will also host a Junior/senior advisement session for parents right before Probe, from 5:15-6pm in the main cafeteria.

The Cherokee County School District (CCSD) is partnering with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), local agencies, and child welfare advocates to bring a Parent University event about how to address mental health with students, trends in student mental health and the impact of social media. The target audience is parents/guardians and children ages 11 and up.

Parent University: Student Mental Health, Wellness and Su***de Prevention will take place at Woodstock City Church on the evening of Thursday, September 29th from 6:30-8:30pm. Please see the attached flyer for more details. Through CCSD’s partnership with Northside Hospital Cherokee, each family in attendance will receive a copy Michelle Borba’s book Unselfie: Why Empathetic Kids Succeed in Our All-About-Me World. Woodstock City Church will be providing dessert and coffee as well.

Most Georgia public colleges won’t require SAT, ACT for 2023-24 Most Georgia public colleges will extend SAT and ACT testing waiver for fall 2023 admission.

Seniors, please be sure to order your Cap and Gown by December 1st. See Ms. Ard in the 500 hall office with any questions! :) Minimum order for participation in graduation is the cap/gown. Please remember to select Cherokee High School when you order.
