Today our little learners examined pictures of different houses and talked about their similarities and differences. They then put their thinking skills to work by sorting the houses into groups based on what they noticed! 🧠💭

Our little learners went on a shape hunt! We reviewed our basic shapes and then had just 3 minutes to explore the room and find as many shapes as we could. 👀🔎 We had so much fun learning through movement, exploration, and a little friendly competition! 🥰

💡 Shape Tip for Families: When talking about shapes with your child, please start saying “rhombus” instead of “diamond.” 😊 We want to help our little learners learn the proper mathematical names for the shapes they see every day!

Our Bridge Class had so much fun making banana dough! 🍌 This hands-on experience came straight from our Wonder of Learning curriculum, giving the children the opportunity to explore and learn through their five senses. They touched, smelled, saw, and experienced the different textures and materials as they worked together to create their banana dough. Learning through play makes for some of the sweetest memories! 💛

Kindergarten readiness can show up in everyday moments, not just big milestones. A few signals to notice:

1. They’re building confidence to try things independently. Examples: walking into a room first, asking for help, or giving something new a try.

2. They’re starting to recognize the letters in their name, even if they’re not reading just yet.

3. They’re showing care and responsibility at home. This could include things like helping pack a bag, feeding a pet, putting away toys, or getting through part of their routine with a little more ease.

Every child grows at their own pace - and readiness looks different for every family. Their preschool teachers can be a great partner in noticing strengths, celebrating progress, and helping you think through what comes next.
