🔒 LOCKDOWN DRILL TOMORROW

Tomorrow (Sept. 1 @ 2:30pm), CGES will be conducting a lockdown drill as part of our ongoing commitment to keeping our students and staff safe and prepared.

This will be a practice drill only—there is no emergency or immediate danger. Students will learn about school safety from Officer Staci in the morning. In the afternoon, students will practice our age-appropriate safety procedures, including securing their classroom, staying out of sight, remaining quiet, and following directions from their teacher.

We know that safety drills can sometimes raise questions for children, so our staff will keep the language calm and reassuring and will take time afterward to answer questions and help students understand that they are safe. We will preview with students why we practice these drills and debrief after to ensure we have ample time to answer any student questions.

If you would prefer that your child not participate in the drill, please contact the school no later than 8:00am. Students who do not participate will receive alternative safety instruction.

Weight Room Update:
Hours have changed a bit for community members that use the school weight room/fitness center. Weight room access now begins at 5am instead of 5:30 am. Thank you.
