Learning fractions gets a whole lot sweeter when chocolate bars enter the scene. Imagine breaking a chocolate bar into equal pieces to explore halves, thirds, and quarters—suddenly, math isn’t just numbers on a page, it’s something you can see, touch, and taste. 😋 We made some delicious discoveries today, making fractions feel less intimidating and a lot more fun! 🍫

So inspired by the creativity and innovation our students showed in their STEM projects! Using everyday trash and/or recyclables, they designed and built everything from functional prototypes to imaginative inventions. These projects not only highlight problem-solving and engineering skills, but also encourage sustainability and thinking differently about the materials we often throw away. Amazing work turning “waste” into something meaningful!!!

Spring cleaning? Do you have a "junk drawer" that’s getting a little too full? Before you toss those leftover craft supplies, consider giving them a second life in our art classrooms! We are looking for recycled and leftover items to fuel our students' creativity.
PLEASE do not buy new items. The mission of this drive is to keep perfectly good materials out of landfills and put them into the hands of our young artists. We want your unwanted "treasures!"
Thank you for supporting our young artists and helping us stay eco-friendly!

Our final map and picture of our bulletin board with all the amazing cards, postcards and letters we received during our
❤️ Hearts Across America 🇺🇸 project. We had a blast learning about so many places across America and even a few other countries! Thank you so much for participating in our fun!

What I believe is our final postcard from the Hearts Across America project came all the way from Spain! Hazel’s family friend sent a package with a postcard and a snack. The kids thought it was so cool that the box was in Spanish! Plus they all enjoyed getting a snack. 😋

The postcards/cards have continued to pour in for our Hearts Across America project. Avianna & Kyra’s cousin and a family friend sent letters from Oklahoma and Georgia. Also, Nate’s uncles sent some postcards from Seattle, Washington.

We kicked off Read Across America week by celebrating Dr Seuss’ birthday. 📖📚🇺🇸 A mystery reader showed up (which happened to be the “Principal of the Day”), Mrs. Moff read to all the 2nd grade “Things” and we enjoyed some good books.
