Upper Elementary students kicked off the school year with two engaging STEM challenges: the Penny-Bridge Challenge and the Paper Chain Challenge!

Students partnered with different classmates for each activity, putting their creativity, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills into action. Through planning, collaboration, testing ideas, and trying again, they experienced science much like real scientists do.

The Next Generation Science Standards encourage students to approach problems through investigation, design, collaboration, and trial and error—and our Upper Elementary students were excited to jump right in!
