The 2026 WNC Dairy Feeder Steer Project will have 7 holstein calves available for purchase on Monday Sept 14th! This year’s participants have worked extremely hard and paid close attention to detail in raising their animals. The steers will be sold in lots according to weight, most were weighing 430-490 lbs the first week of August. The funds raised by purchasing the calves go directly back to the participants to cover their cost of the project and hopefully help fund their next livestock project venture! If you have any questions about the calves, feel free to call Buncombe & Henderson Livestock Agent, Abby Whitaker at 828-255-5522. Please consider coming to support this great local youth livestock project!
