WildKidd leaf piles hit a little differently. 🍂😂
A pile of leaves turned into zipline leaf explosions—which meant raking, running the zipline back and forth, negotiating turns, identifying some BIG feelings, cheering each other on, and experimenting with speed, momentum, and exactly how far to lean to land in the pile. 🍁
And because it was our first really cold day, we also learned a little more about how to keep ourselves warm while we play.
I’m learning more about knots right alongside the Kidds, so we headed into the woods on a branch hunt to build our first rope ladder—testing sticks for the rungs, tying, climbing, adjusting, and trying again.
And somehow we still had enough energy to end the day with a giant parachute and a whole lot more leaves.
Talk about Playmaker fun—WildKidd style. 💚
Play. Collaboration. Problem solving. Big feelings. Physics. Knots. Movement. Joy.

A little bit of this week at WildKidd. 🌲
We became pirates. 🏴‍☠️
We practiced slowing our bodies down and finding stillness.
We read If You Find a Rock and headed into the woods on a rock-finding adventure of our own. 🪨
We designed, painted, built, and practiced using real tools to bring ideas to life. 🔨
And we gave Frankie a bath because, occasionally, wild = stinky. 😂
Wild and quiet.
Imaginative and practical.
Silly and deeply focused.
Childhood doesn’t have to stay in one lane.
It all belongs here. 💚

Bubbles, s’mores, glitter… oh my. 🔥🫧✨

This week at WildKidd, we had our very first campfire.

We built ENORMOUS catapults from fallen logs and discovered what happens when you give a bunch of Kidds a lever, a fulcrum, and permission to experiment.

We danced with scarves. We made pirate forts with cups.

We used what can only be described as an irresponsible amount of glitter. ✨😂

So, if anyone feels called to send glitter reinforcements, please DM us for next steps. We have absolutely no intention of becoming more responsible with it. 😂✨

And then there were the bubbles.

The Kidds figured out how to blow bubbles using only their hands—and then how to hold them, stretch them apart, and even transfer them from one person to another.

Because sometimes learning looks like simple machines and scientific discovery.

And sometimes it looks like sticky s’more fingers, glitter absolutely everywhere, and a bubble balanced between two tiny hands.

Around here, it’s usually all of it. 🌿

What does a day at WildKidd look like? 🌿

Yesterday, it started deep in the woods—exploring fallen trees, feeling soft decaying wood beneath our feet, discovering mushrooms and moss, and talking about why deadwood is so important to a healthy forest.

And then… we found a portal. ✨

The roots of a fallen tree had lifted from the earth, creating an opening just big enough for WildKidds to crawl through.

Because sometimes learning about decomposition turns into crawling through a magical forest portal. Obviously. 🤭

Then our afternoon shifted completely.

Amy joined us in Basecamp with her singing bowls and handpan for a sound bath. We watched children settle into the vibrations, relax their bodies, and gaze up through the skylight of the yurt as the sounds surrounded them.

Exploration. Wonder. Movement. Stillness.

Two completely different experiences—and somehow, both exactly what childhood can be.

This is what we're creating at WildKidd: days with enough space for children to explore deeply, follow the unexpected, and experience a little magic along the way. 🌿

What a weekend. ❤️🌿

The WildKidd yurt is officially standing.

It's hard to put into words what this weekend meant to us. What started as a dream became something you can now walk up to, touch, and stand inside.

Built from saplings, wrapped with some pretty gnarly rope, a handful of screws, and an incredible amount of heart, this yurt already has a story. Every tree, every knot, and every helping hand represents people who believe children deserve a place to connect with nature.

One of the most meaningful parts of the weekend wasn't just the building itself—it was the people.

Friends stopped by. Families brought their kids just to see what was taking shape. Neighbors, supporters, and curious visitors came to walk the property, ask questions, and experience the vision we're creating. It was incredibly humbling and such an honor to have so many people spend part of their weekend with us. Seeing children explore, adults smile, and conversations spark about what WildKidd is becoming reminded us why we're doing this.

This yurt isn't just a structure.

It will become a place where kids discover confidence, build friendships, solve problems, get muddy, learn new skills, care for the land, and experience the kind of childhood that stays with them forever.

We're still just getting started, but this weekend was a milestone we'll never forget.

To every person who carried saplings, tied rope, turned screws, shared a meal, brought your family, stopped by to cheer us on, or simply believed in this dream...

🌿 WILDKIDD Homeschool Enrichment Program 🌿

After years of dreaming, planning, and building, we're finally opening the gates and getting started.

Beginning this week, homeschool families are invited to join us on:

📅 Tuesdays & Thursdays
🕙 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
📍 Canterbury, NH

This is an outdoor, community-based homeschool enrichment program focused on:

🌱 Nature
🛠 Real-life skills
🐔 Animals
🌲 Outdoor exploration
🤝 Community
🔥 Campfire cooking
🍅 Gardening & homesteading
🎨 Creativity
🏕 Free play

This is not a drop-off program and it's not a traditional classroom.

We'll spend our time working together on projects around the property, maintaining trails and gardens, caring for animals, building things, learning new skills, exploring nature, sharing meals, and letting kids be kids.

Some days may include:
• Gardening and planting
• Trail work
• Fort building
• Nature crafts
• Animal care
• Campfire cooking
• Creek exploration
• Seasonal projects
• Community service
• Free play and outdoor adventures

Please bring:
✔ Water bottle
✔ Lunch or something to share
✔ Clothes that can get dirty
✔ Change of clothes
✔ Water shoes for creek play if you have them

There is currently no fee and no long-term commitment.

We are looking for founding families who want to help build something meaningful together. We want your ideas, your skills, and your input. What would you like your children to learn? What can your family share? What is missing from homeschool opportunities in our area?

🌟 TEEN LEADERSHIP TEAM 🌟

We're also looking for local teens who want to help build something bigger than themselves.

The vision is for a teen leadership team that helps plan projects, organize fundraisers, support community service efforts, help shape programs, and learn leadership skills while making a real impact in our community.

If your teen may be interested, please reach out. We are especially looking for a few motivated teens who would like to help build this from the ground up.
