One of our favorite back to school activities- Name Tag Necklaces!
This is a great first week activity as it covers so many different skills!
🧵 Fine-Motor Skills
-Picking up & manipulating small beads
-Using the pincer grasp (thumb and index finger)
-Coordinating both hands together
-Threading beads onto string
-Developing hand-eye coordination
-Building finger strength and dexterity
🔤 Literacy & Name Recognition
-Recognizing and identifying the letters in their own name
-Identifying uppercase and lowercase letters
-Learning the correct letter order in their name
-Practicing letter-sound awareness
-Connecting spoken language to written letters
-Building early writing and spelling skills
🔢 Math Skills
-Counting the number of letters in their name
-Counting and sorting beads by color, shape, or size
-Creating and extending color patterns
-Comparing quantities (more/less)

-Following multi-step directions
-Problem-solving when a bead doesn’t fit or falls off

-Planning and sequencing
-Making choices and completing a task independently
