Some things come full circle.

Harold Coats and Case Viss once walked the halls of Kiamichi Tech's Atoka Campus as Electrical Technology students. Today, they're part of the Jefco crew building the training shop at Kiamichi Tech's Durant Campus where future electricians will begin their own careers. The connection is not lost on them.

"It's really cool getting to come in here and actually put together what we learned on," said Viss. "This is almost identical to what we had in our shop as students."

Their story is about more than a new building. It’s about hands-on education, local careers and graduates who are putting their skills to work right here in southeast Oklahoma.

[CES] PSO is experiencing a major power outage in Caney. Electricity will not be fixed in time to have school.
We must cancel school due to no electricity.
Parents may pick up children at the library. Buses will also at 8:45. Phones are down. You may send a parent square message to Mr. Brown or Brister

Dear Caney Parents and Community,
Last night, school officials received a report of alleged hazing, bullying and other misconduct following an extracurricular activity. School administrators are investigating the situation and working with local law enforcement. They have also directly contacted the parents of the students involved.

Student privacy laws limit the information we can share about this situation; however, we believe it is important to communicate as openly as possible when concerns arise that may impact our school community.

There is nothing more important to our school team than providing a safe and welcoming environment for every student. We take matters involving student safety and well-being very seriously and are committed to investigating reports thoroughly and taking appropriate action.

Caney families,

There is drinking water available at the Caney Fire station. You will need a container to put the water in. The water buffalo was brought by the Chickasaw Tribal Nation Emergency Management with help from the Choctaw tribal Nation Emergency Management. There is also a water buffalo at the Voca Baptist Church provided by the Caney Fire Department.

Bottled water will be provided for students and staff.

Atoka County Rural Water District 3 ( Caney area ) is going under a boil order for drinking water immediately. Water buffalo for drinking water only will be set up for the area later this afternoon.
