We are incredibly proud of the Enka High School Chamber Singers, who participated in this year’s Buncombe County High School All County Chorus. After a day and a half of rigorous rehearsals, our students delivered a beautiful and moving performance of Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna and other works. Their musicianship, focus, and heart were on full display tonight.

A heartfelt thank you to the many people at Buncombe County Schools who work tirelessly to support the arts through important events like this. We are also grateful to the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts for hosting, as well as the outstanding clinician, accompanists, instrumentalists, and our BCS choral colleagues for their incredible work in making this event successful.

Most of all, we want to celebrate our gifted and dedicated students. Your commitment, preparation, and passion for music made tonight a truly wonderful celebration of the choral arts. Bravo, Chamber Singers! 🩵 ✈️ 🎶

Last night, the All County Chorus students delivered a truly unforgettable performance. Despite the bitter cold and numerous disruptions, their hard work and resilience shone brightly, matched only by the dedication of the clinician, accompanist, and their proud directors.

I am deeply honored to be part of a community of artists so wholeheartedly committed to fostering not only the musical growth of our students but also their development as individuals. It's a testament to the importance of events like this when the concert ends, and a student immediately asks "When can we get up there and do that again?"

My heart is so full of gratitude. Thank you, Buncombe County Schools, for championing opportunities like this, and a special thanks to Laura Mitchell for her exceptional leadership in planning, coordinating, and bringing this inspiring event to life. Huge thanks also to our supportive administrators, superintendent Dr. Jackson, and our supportive, understanding school board.
