Dear Learning Tree community,
I have recently been offered a wonderful opportunity to be the director of another Aspen academies childcare center. This position opened up at one of Ben and Shawn’s other locations and they asked me if being a director was something I would be interested in. After deliberating it with those around me, including Caitland, and being reassured that the assistant director position would be in good hands under Ms. Emma, I’ve decided to accept the position. The next step in my career was always going to be a position as a director and this opportunity sort of fell into my lap so I would be remiss not to take it.
I have already begun a slow transition over to the new location in the last week so that I can learn the way the current administration handles the day-to-day. My final days at Learning Tree will be Wednesday, June 17th and Friday, June 19th.
As I move into this new role, I have the opportunity to bring some of the magic that makes Learning Tree so special to another school in our community. I am so eternally grateful to the families, kids, and staff that Learning Tree has given me over the last ten years. I’ve developed friendships and relationships that will far surpass my time at Learning Tree and I will most certainly be back to visit.

There is a house fire in the neighborhood near LT. We are completely fine and will be keeping all the kids inside. Traffic is heavy so please plan accordingly and drive safe.

Power just came back on. So long as it stays on we will continue to be open but please look out for updates.

The city of Canby is experiencing a “brown out.” If power is not restored or resolved in the next 30 minutes we will be sending kids home. If you have not dropped off yet, we recommend waiting until this is resolved. Updates to follow!

Hi families! This cold and flu season is no joke - it seems like a lot of people, kiddos especially, are getting hit hard with either the cold or flu. As a reminder of our sick policies - we will send kiddos home if they have a fever of 100.4° or higher, if they have a persistent cough, or if they have more than two instances of vomiting and/or diarrhea. They will be able to return once they have been symptom free without the use of a fever reducing aide such as Tylenol, ibuprofen, or Motrin for a minimum of 24 hours.
We are sanitizing and cleaning like crazy but the only way we’ll get through this sick season is by working together! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the front desk staff!

Today most of our classes went crazy for Valentine's day! It was a gigantic success with lots of chuckles and super fun games. Fingers crossed that the weather holds up so we can all get our energy out!

We have space in our school age classroom if school ends up being delayed and/or closed for your students today. As of right now, we know that Eccles is on a two hour delay and Carus is closed.

The giving tree tags are up!! If you would like to buy a fit for a child or a family in need please take a tag and sign it out on the clipboard next to the tree.
Please return wrapped presents no later than Monday, Denver 22nd so we can make sure to give them to the families in time for the holidays.
