2027 SPRAY RODEO QUEEN TRYOUTS

We’re excited to announce that tryouts for the 2027 Spray Rodeo Queen will be happening at the Spray Rodeo Grounds on October 11, 2026!

As a Spray Rodeo Queen for 2027, you’ll have the amazing opportunity to travel across Oregon as the proud ambassador for our “one and only” Spray Rodeo, our wonderful community, and cherished western traditions. You’ll also get to welcome visiting royalty during the BIG 80th rodeo over Memorial Day Weekend, a truly memorable experience!

Our 2027 Spray Rodeo Queen will receive a custom buckle and a $500 scholarship to help start your journey.

The tryouts will be a fun and supportive environment where participants will be judged on horsemanship, speaking skills, personality through interviews, and overall appearance.

We’ll kick things off at 10:00 am. After the tryouts, we’ll announce our new Queen and celebrate together with a potluck. Bring your favorite dish and join in the fun!

Applications are due by October 1st. To apply, email [email protected]. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out. I’m here to help and would love to hear from you.

I can’t wait to meet you at the tryouts and cheer you on!

Each year we learn and grow. One thing for certain is we want to ensure we have at least 3, 2027 Queen Contestants. After having 2 last year it simply was tough.

If we don't have 3 dedicated princesses who admire to wear the crown that is perfectly fine. We have some of the most amazing princesses around. The cutest and kindest ambassadors. This doesn't mean it won't be offered in the coming years but we want to make sure we are never in the situation to choose one over the other again.

If you are serious about trying out for the 2027 RYR Queen please let Lacy Keller know before August 16th.

Thank you!

Jesse Brown has never been the loudest guy in the steer wrestling.
He doesn't have to be. He lets the stopwatch do the talking.
The Baker City, Oregon cowboy burst onto the professional rodeo scene by winning PRCA Steer Wrestling Rookie of the Year honors in 2017. Since then, he has become one of the most consistent bulldoggers in the game, qualifying for multiple National Finals Rodeos while quietly building a career that has earned him well over $1.3 million.
And today, Jesse is once again chasing the biggest prize in rodeo. Sitting No. 2 in the PRCA World Standings, he's proving that championships aren't won with one spectacular run—they're won by showing up every week, making the catch, getting the steer on the ground, and cashing another check.
One thing separates great steer wrestlers from everyone else:
Consistency.
At 70 miles an hour there's no room for panic. Every move has to happen automatically. Trust your horse. Trust your hazer. Trust your timing. That's Jesse Brown. No wasted motion. No drama. Just one of the finest steer wrestlers in professional rodeo today.

💸 5 things that are absolutely worth spending money on as a Rodeo Queen.

Not everything has to be expensive… but there are a few investments that make a huge difference. 🤍✨

⭐ Got2b Glued Hairspray
If you’ve ever battled wind, hats, or long appearance days… you know. Your hair isn’t going anywhere.

⭐ 3” Bobby Pins + Toupee Tape
The ultimate duo. Secure hat = one less thing to worry about when you’re running, waving, hugging kids, or riding into grand entry.

⭐ A Good Skincare Routine
Your makeup is only as good as the skin underneath it. Healthy, happy skin not only looks better in photos—it helps your makeup wear beautifully all day. And beyond pageants, you deserve to feel confident in your own skin.

⭐ Tailgunner Apparel
Quality western wear, incredible people, and some of the biggest supporters of rodeo queens. Support the businesses that invest in our industry—they’re investing in you, too. 🤎

⭐ Professional Photography
Your photos are often the first impression sponsors, committees, and fans have of you. A professional photographer knows the lighting, angles, posing, and editing that help you look like your best self. It’s an investment that pays off long after your reign.

What would you add to the list? 👇✨

This is what it’s all about. 🤍

Not just the headshots.

But the moments in between.

Helping fix a curl that wouldn’t cooperate.

Popping on a little blush and bronzer to get photo ready.

Trying on one more jacket.

Stepping in to hype up a new friend.

Laughing until your cheeks hurt.

Sharing advice, experiences, and lessons learned.

Building confidence one conversation at a time.

Encouraging one another to step outside our comfort zones.

Watching girls who walked in as strangers leave as friends.

That’s the vision behind Iron n Ivory.

To create opportunities where young women can invest in themselves, grow their confidence, expand their network, and discover that they’re capable of more than they ever imagined.

The beautiful headshots were simply the bonus. (I can’t wait to share them with you!)

Thank you to every participant who trusted us, to the incredible team that poured into these young women, and to Lost Locals Media for helping bring this vision to life.

Here’s to continuing to build each other up and leaving every opportunity a little better than we found it. 🤍

✨ One application could change the course of your next year.

You don’t have to know if you’ll win.

You don’t have to be the most experienced rider, the best speaker, or the girl who has dreamed about this her whole life.

You simply have to be willing to take a chance on yourself.

The greatest regret isn’t trying and falling short—it’s wondering what could have happened if you had been brave enough to submit the application.

No matter the outcome, you’ll leave tryouts with new experiences, new friendships, and confidence you didn’t have before.

💙 Applications for the 2027 Clackamas County Fair & Canby Rodeo Court are due this Friday.

Take the leap. Your future self just might thank you.
