Just a friendly reminder that there will be a backpack giveaway tomorrow, August 26th and Thursday, August 27th for Canaseraga students. This will take place 9am -2pm each day (or until our supply is gone) in the Main Foyer (please use the Main Entrance).

We have a limited supply of backpacks for High School students (approx. 15 backpacks), the remaining supply is geared towards the elementary.

There will also be some additional school supplies available as well.

In preparing for the upcoming school year we have discovered a fair amount of older school yearbooks. We have extras for the following years: 1984, 1985, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1996 (Calendar Walk Through), 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.

These yearbooks are $10 and can be purchased/picked up in the Main Office.

Canaseraga Faculty, Staff, and Community:

We regret to announce that Mrs. Steiner will be resigning from her position as Superintendent of Schools, effective sometime in August 2026.

Mrs. Steiner has shared that, while she has been honored to serve here in Canaseraga, she is pursuing a position that is better suited for her family's needs during this particular season of life.

We wish her well as she makes these decisions and moves on.

Please be assured that the Board of Education has a transition plan in place, and the district will continue to function at a high level for the upcoming school year.

More information will be forthcoming. The Board plans to appoint an interim superintendent, and will conduct a new superintendent search, with the help of GST District Superintendent Stacy Saglibene. Ms. Saglibene has assisted the district in the past and is well-versed in the process for hiring a new superintendent. We welcome her support.

The Board of Education will continue to update the community as we progress throughout the summer and fall. Thank you for your support.

Student artwork is on display alongside the BRAGGS 1N C0DE robotics team’s robot that competed at the VEX Robotics World Championship, showcasing the creativity, innovation, and hard work of our students. We hope you’ll take a look and help us celebrate their accomplishments! 💚🤍

The Canaseraga and Arkport Central School Districts are pleased to announce that they have entered into an agreement to share the services of School Business Official, Connie Karr. The tentative agreement was approved at Canaseraga's reorganizational meeting on July 9, 2026, and is slated for board adoption by the Arkport Board of Education at their reorganizational meeting on July 15. Karr, a Canaseraga alum, brings 16 years of experience in the school system and over 5 years as Arkport's business official. She will spend up to one day a week filling the same role for Canaseraga. Both districts are fortunate to be able to draw on Karr's valued knowledge and experience as a Business Official, and this agreement to share services is an example of how small rural districts can successfully work together to maintain programming while reducing costs.
