Faculty and students who participated in study abroad experiences in Sicily and South Africa capped Laker Day with a public presentation at Wood Library. 🌎

John Bateman and Maura Sullivan, who led the South Africa trip, shared a story of finding themselves surrounded by cape buffalo in their jeep in a wildlife refuge.

Student Angela MacAllister of Naples was so moved by her experience she had the outline of Sicily tattooed on her leg. “There wasn’t a day that went by I didn’t thank the universe for letting me be there,” she said.

Today marked another great Laker Day! 🎉

Students, faculty and staff enjoyed trips to Seneca Park Zoo and Letchworth State Park, explored a SUNY mobile lab to discover exciting career opportunities, built LEGO bouquet planters, played games with our esports team and so much more.

This college tradition continues to bring our campus community together through fun activities and new experiences outside the classroom.

Faith Zombori, an online paralegal student, is a finalist in SUNY’s design contest for an "I Voted" sticker. She likes to draw and entered the contest on a lark.

Faith, a nontraditional student who lives in Madison County, was astonished to be a finalist. SUNY faculty, staff and students can vote for their favorite design on the SUNY website between now and Thursday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m. Scroll down past the registration information to get to the contest info. It will ask for your email address, then send you an email to confirm your vote.

The winning design will be made available at polling sites located on SUNY campuses during the 2026 midterm election on Nov. 3.

What an incredible day! The sun was shining, the fall weather was beautiful, and our Laker community truly showed up for yesterday’s Golf Ball Drop. With more than 900 golf balls dropped and $9,260+ raised, participants have directly supported FLCC students and athletics!

Thank you to all who came to learn more about the impact of the SUNY ASAP (Advancing Success in Associate Pathways) program yesterday and a shoutout to our panelists, Maria Echevarria Lopez '26 of Rushville, Evelyn Mack of Seneca Falls and Cody Thomas of Rochester, and emcee Nissa Youngren. ASAP provides additional advising, coaching and financial support to eligible students, smoothing the transition to college and supporting them to graduation. Thanks to the governor and SUNY for their continued support of this program.

Yesterday, the music department hosted the first Jazz Cafe of the fall semester! 🪊🎵

This once-a-month event gives students, faculty, staff and community members an opportunity to bring lunch and enjoy live music from the student jazz ensemble.

Next month’s Jazz Cafe will take place Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 1 p.m. in Stage 14 at main campus.

That’s a wrap on another FLCC Foundation Golf Tournament!

A little morning drizzle and brisk fall air couldn’t stop 88 golfers from enjoying a great day at Ravenwood! Lunch kicked off the day, appetizers welcomed golfers back after the round, and plenty of fun happened in between.

Most importantly, funds raised will support FLCC scholarships and the mission of the FLCC Foundation, helping create opportunities for our students.
