BOARD NOTES:
July 23, 2026 - Regular Meeting
The CISD School Board met on July 23. They approved the minutes from the June 16 meeting as well as reviewed financial reports. Additional reports were given on :
Annual Report on School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) requirements, Facilities and Capital Project-including HVAC work at Baker and CES
Report was given by Parkhill regarding the Ag Facility
Action was taken on the following items:
The Board approved the Interlocal Agreement for Behavior Health Services with Hemphill County Hospital to provide mental health services for students and staff.
The Board approved the Annual Reauthorization of the resolution relating to the presence of at least one armed security officer on every school district campus pursuant Texas Education Agency.
The Board approved the Air Med Contract for the 26-27 school year, the updates to policies, the annual contract with the Region 16 Service Center, the annual TTESS Teacher Appraisal Calendar and the annual Agreement to Purchase Attendance Credits.
In addition, the Board approved the Employee Handbook and approved the adoption to order authorization of previously approved bond funds. The Board approved the Certification of Compliance with Certain Laws as required by Texas Education Code.
The Board must annually review and approved the cost of student meals, and set the price of lunches at $3.00 and breakfasts at $2.00 for the 26-27 school year.
The board met in closed session to discuss possible purchase of land for a transportation facility.
The meeting ended at 8:50 p.m. and the next Regular Board Meeting will be held on August 26, 2026 at 5:30 p.m.
August 4, 2026 - Special Called Meeting
The CISD School Board met on August 4, 2025 for a Special Called Meeting. They approved the minutes from the July 23 meeting as well as reviewed financial reports. Additional reports were given on :
Student Handbooks for the 26-27 School Year
Tour of the Ag Facility
Presentation on the Proposed Budget for the 26-27 School Year
Action was taken on the following items:
The Board Proposed a Tax Rate of .9769 (.7054 for M & O and .2715 for I & S) and set August 26 at 5:30 pm as the date for the public hearing to discuss the 2026-27 Proposed Budget and 2026 Proposed Tax Rate.
The Board approved the 2026-2027 Student Code of Conduct and the Extra and Co-curricular Code of Conduct.
The Board met in Executive Session and took action to accept the resignation of Superintendent.
The meeting ended at 8:04 p.m. and the next Regular Board Meeting will be held on August 26, 2026 at 5:30 p.m.
