Dear Region One Families, Staff, and Community Members:

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we are providing our annual notification of policies and legally required information for students, families, staff, and community members.

Information regarding nondiscrimination, Title IX, Section 504, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and related grievance procedures is available to students, families, employees, and applicants.

The Region also provides required contact information for the individuals responsible for addressing complaints under these laws.

Additional Annual Notices
CABE also identifies several additional notices that school districts are required to provide or make available, including:

Good Morning, Region One Families and Staff,

I hope you and your loved ones are safe following last evening's severe weather. Our thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted.

To support our community, Housatonic Valley Regional High School will open its gymnasium and locker rooms on Monday from 9 AM to 3 PM for any Region One family or staff member in need of a place to charge phones, access drinking water, or take a shower. If you plan to shower, please bring your own toiletries, towels, and other personal items.

To allow our families and staff time to focus on recovery efforts, all Region One school programs, including camps, Extended School Year services, and other scheduled activities, will be canceled on Monday and Tuesday.

In addition, any staff members who live or work in impacted areas should plan to work remotely on Monday and Tuesday. Please communicate directly with your principal to coordinate your work responsibilities.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me directly at 860-248-1231.

Please stay safe, take care of one another, and know that Region One is here to support you.

Thanks,
Mel
