🛝 So much fun happening at Canaan Elementary!💙

Our kids are loving the new (some new to us!) playground equipment and having a blast getting outside and playing together! We also kicked off the year with our first assembly. It is a great way to come together, celebrate our school community, and start the year strong! 🎉🙌

📚 Grammar in action! ✏️

Our second graders are using their grammar books for the very first time! They worked with partners during a fun Scoot game, moving around the room and searching for nouns. Learning grammar, working together, and having fun—all at the same time! 💙📖

Our Kindergarten family had a great first week! We learned and practiced routines, did some name work, was introduced to different centers, and had some outdoor fun! A generous former Canaan student, who plans to go into the Early Childhood field, and her mom, dropped off an amazing donation of items for our classroom! Such a blessing! This included balls so Friday each Kinder got to pick a ball and we had some fun outside with them! Then we rested in the shade and had a "rug" activity that they have been learning. I ask a question, we go around answering it...we practice speaking in a group and being good listeners when other students are sharing!
