We had a unique visitor at the office today, a male Eastern Hercules Beetle! Eastern Hercules Beetles are in the same family (Scarabaeidae) as Japanese Beetles and June Beetles and they are the largest beetles found in our area. We know this is a male because of the 2 large horns (1 on the head and 1 on the pronotum).
Identifying insects is one of the many free services offered by the Extension Service!
