Our August One Wildcat to Watch Teacher is someone who demonstrates exactly what we hope every child experiences at CGS—a teacher who makes students feel known, loved, supported, and excited to come to school.
Multiple families took the time to nominate this teacher, and one family shared how she made a tremendous difference for their child during what was initially a difficult transition to CGS. Her care was so evident that it didn't just impact that student—it made an impression on the entire family. ♥️
Another parent, whose children have had the opportunity to be in her classroom, described her as someone who communicates well, maintains an incredibly positive attitude, and consistently shows kindness and love to the children around her. They even shared that they hope their youngest child gets the opportunity to have her one day, too. ✏️
That says a lot.
Great teaching is certainly about helping students grow academically—but the teachers we remember most are often the ones who make us feel like we matter. This teacher has built that kind of trust with both students and families. 🍎

Mrs. Rachel Barron!
Rachel, thank you for the joy, kindness, consistency, and love you pour into our Wildcats each day. Congratulations on being our August One Wildcat to Watch!

Our August One Wildcat to Watch Staff Member is someone who reminds us that making a difference in a child’s life often happens in the smallest moments. ♥️
This Wildcat was nominated by a parent who shared how he went far beyond what was expected to help a young student who was having a difficult time with morning drop-off. Instead of simply helping the student get inside and moving on, he took the time to comfort him, walk with him, carry him to his classroom when needed, and even give him stickers to help make the start of his day a little easier. 🏫
What stood out most was the trust he was able to build. As the parent shared, what may seem like a small gesture to an adult can be life-changing for a four-year-old. His actions helped this young Wildcat feel safe, supported, and cared for at school. 🛟
His nomination described him as someone who goes above and beyond, demonstrates kindness, builds positive relationships, supports students and staff, shows leadership, and makes CGS a better place. But perhaps the best description was that he helps keep our children safe not only physically, but emotionally as well.
That is what being a Wildcat is all about.
It is our privilege to recognize our August One Wildcat to Watch Staff Member...
Officer Gregg Satterfield! 🚔
Officer Satterfield, thank you for protecting our Wildcats, caring for them, and making sure they know there is always someone at CGS looking out for them. Congratulations!

What a day for our Lady Wildcats! 🏐🐾
We are incredibly proud of their stellar showing at the Woodruff Stars Invitational today! Our Lady Wildcats battled with tremendous effort, energy, and intensity, earning victories over Carver Middle, D.R. Hill Middle, and Dawkins Middle and finishing 4th overall in the Gold Bracket!🔥
Congratulations to Coach Lundeen, Coach Kelley, and this outstanding group of Lady Wildcats on a fantastic day on the court. Their hard work is already showing, and we can’t wait to see what this team accomplishes as regular season play gets underway next week!
