❤️ Beyond the Stethoscope – Day 3 & Program Wrap-Up ❤️
Our final day of Beyond the Stethoscope took students to Taylor Regional Hospital, where they spent the morning and early afternoon exploring the many career paths available within a hospital setting.
Students had the opportunity to hear directly from healthcare professionals and department leaders, ask questions about their educational and career journeys, and gain valuable insight into the day-to-day responsibilities of various healthcare roles. They also had the chance to shadow areas of personal interest, allowing them to experience firsthand the teamwork, dedication, and expertise that make quality patient care possible.
As the program came to a close, we gathered one final time to celebrate a week of learning, growth, and exploration. We were honored to recognize three students with our Heartbeat Participation Award for their enthusiasm, professionalism, engagement, and all-in attitude throughout the week:
🩺 Kallie Wood
🩺 Tateanna Mounce
🩺 Jazlyn McKinney
We also awarded an iPad to participant Amari Hayward, whose name was drawn during our closing celebration.
Over the past three days, students have practiced clinical skills, explored healthcare careers, connected with professionals, toured healthcare facilities, learned lifesaving techniques, and built new friendships. Most importantly, they have gained a clearer vision of the many opportunities available to them in healthcare.
Thank you to Taylor Regional Hospital and all of our community partners, faculty, staff, volunteers, and sponsors who invested their time and talents into making Beyond the Stethoscope a meaningful experience. We are excited to see where these future healthcare professionals go from here!

✨ Beyond the Stethoscope – Day 2 Recap ✨
Day 2 was all about discovering the many opportunities available within the world of allied health!
Students spent the day at Campbellsville University’s Allied Health facilities, exploring a variety of healthcare careers through hands-on activities, simulations, and interactive learning experiences. Throughout the day, participants tested their knowledge, developed new skills, and gained a deeper understanding of the many ways healthcare professionals work together to care for patients and serve their communities.
A special highlight of the day was the opportunity to tour and learn from ambulances brought by Campbellsville-Taylor County EMS and Green County EMS. Students got an up-close look at emergency medical equipment, learned about prehospital care, and heard firsthand about careers in emergency medical services from the professionals who serve our region every day.
After a full day of learning and exploration, students enjoyed some well-earned recreation time. Whether competing on the pickleball courts, cooling off in the pool, or simply spending time with new friends, the evening provided a chance to relax, build connections, and make lasting memories.
From simulations and skills training to career exploration and community building, Day 2 showcased the wide range of opportunities available in healthcare and helped students continue envisioning their future in the field.
A huge thank you to our Allied Health faculty and staff, Campbellsville-Taylor County EMS, and Green County EMS for investing in our students and helping make this experience possible!

✨ Beyond the Stethoscope – Day 1, Part 3 ✨
We wrapped up an incredible first day by exploring the many paths a career in healthcare can take.
Dr. and Mrs. Eugene Shively joined us alongside Grant Bays from One Cross Community health to share their experiences in healthcare and the countless opportunities available to students both locally and around the world.
Drawing from decades of experience as a physician and a nurse, the Shivelys offered valuable insight into the rewards, challenges, and calling of healthcare professions. They also shared stories from their medical mission work, encouraging students to consider how their future careers can impact communities far beyond their own.
After dinner, the fun continued as our Student Activities crew sent students on a campus-wide scavenger hunt. Six teams set out to locate 21 destinations across campus, but only one team successfully cracked all the clues! Our first- and second-place teams took home prizes, but everyone walked away with new friendships, a better knowledge of campus, and plenty of memories from an exciting first day.
From hands-on skills and career exploration to teamwork and fun, Day 1 of Beyond the Stethoscope was packed with opportunities for students to learn, grow, and imagine what their future in healthcare could look like. We can’t wait to see what Day 2 has in store!

🚁 Beyond the Stethoscope – Day 1, Part 2 🚁
After lunch, generously sponsored by ATI, students had the opportunity to experience one of the most exciting parts of the day as our partners at Air Evac Lifeteam landed a medical helicopter on the lawn of Ransdell Chapel!
Students explored the aircraft, learned about the unique responsibilities of flight nurses and flight medics, and gained insight into the critical role these professionals play in emergency healthcare. Seeing the helicopter up close brought healthcare careers to life in a way that few classroom experiences can.
The afternoon also included a sweet treat, courtesy of Forcht Bank, followed by Stop the Bleed training led by the Air Evac team. This lifesaving skill empowers students to respond confidently in emergency situations and reinforces the importance of being prepared to help when every second counts.
A huge thank you to ATI, Air Evac Lifeteam, and Forcht Bank for helping make this experience possible and investing in the next generation of healthcare professionals!

🩺 Become a Nursing Mentor. Make a Lasting Difference.
Every nurse remembers someone who encouraged them, challenged them, and reminded them they could do hard things. Through our Adopt-a-Nursing-Student Program, you can be that person for a future nurse.
Mentoring doesn’t require a large time or financial commitment. Sometimes it looks like a text message before an exam, a quick check-in after a challenging clinical day, a note of encouragement, or a small snack delivered during finals week or before a return demonstration. Small acts of support can make a big difference during the nursing school journey.
By sharing your encouragement, experience, and prayers, you can help a student feel seen, supported, and equipped to answer their calling to serve.
Come join us as a nursing mentor! Help us shape the future of healthcare, one student at a time.
