Our 5th graders in Ms. Higdon’s math class put their Place Value and Powers of 10 skills to the test with a fun Darts Review Game! Students practiced multiplying and dividing by powers of 10, analyzing place value, and explaining how digits change value—all while competing for points.

Learning doesn’t have to sit still! Our Eagles were engaged, thinking, and having fun while reviewing important math skills. 🦅💜💛

Over the past two days, Mrs. Lee’s 8th grade ELA students explored perspective through the lens of 9/11. Through personal stories, firsthand voices, videos, music, and poetry, students discovered how one event can be experienced and remembered in many different ways.
We learned that perspective gives history a voice—and every voice has a story worth hearing. ❤️🇺🇸

📚 Making Characters JUMP Off the Page! 🎭
Students in Mrs. Lee’s 8th Grade ELA class put their creativity and storytelling skills to work! Students created and performed their own plays to demonstrate their understanding of creating characters who are worth reading about—characters with personality, purpose, and a story that keeps an audience interested.
After bringing their characters to life on the page, students took the next step and performed their plays for their classmates! 🎬👏
We are so proud of the creativity, collaboration, confidence, and hard work our students showed throughout this project!

Our CMS JAG students put the 6 C’s into action during Give Back Day at Green River Ministries! 🦅

In just 8 days since returning to school, our students and families collected an incredible 328 items to donate to our local homeless shelter!

Our JAG students learned that making a difference doesn’t always require something big—it starts with recognizing a need, coming together, and choosing to help. ❤️

We are so proud of our students for putting our Profile of an Eagle into action and showing what it means to be difference makers in our community!

✈️ Science in Action! 🔬

Our 8th grade scientists put the Scientific Method to the test with a hands-on paper airplane lab! Students made observations, developed hypotheses, and designed plans to test their predictions.

Then came the fun part—testing, collecting data, and analyzing results! 📊✈️ Students documented their findings and wrapped up the investigation by drawing conclusions about which airplane flew the farthest and, most importantly, why.

Learning science means asking questions, testing ideas, learning from the data, and sometimes… seeing just how far a paper airplane can fly! 🚀

A couple weeks ago, the staff of CMS took a moment to give back to a group of people who continually pour into, encourage, and support CMS and our students. Our staff spread out to Glow Up Main Street- sharing window stickers, snacks, prayers, some special sidewalk chalk, and a whole lot of appreciation! 💛

At CMS, we believe every student has something unique to offer, and it takes an entire community working together to help every Eagle find their light.💡

So we simply wanted to say:

🌦️🦅 Today Mrs. Evans and Mrs. Allen collaborated to teach their students the importance of speaking up, using their words, and sharing their ideas.

Students stepped into the role of meteorologists and each had the opportunity to stand up in front of the class and present their very own weather report! 🌤️ We are so proud of the confidence, communication, and courage they showed.

🥪🦅 Learning is always better when you can eat it, too!

Mrs. Tracey’s Eagles put the 6 C’s—Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Character, and Citizenship—into action today as they worked together to make their very own bologna sandwiches! 🥪✨

From following directions and communicating with classmates to working as a team and building independence, these students turned a simple sandwich into a meaningful learning experience!
