His acquaintance with music began with learning piano at the age of twelve. Two years later, when he was only fourteen, he performed his first public piano recital at "Shiraz University Cultural and Recreational Center". He was selected as the pianist of the teenager band of the "Fars Cultural Organization" that year. After his high school diploma, he kept on studying and performing music far more
seriously and professionally. He studied music in Tehran and right after graduation he founded "Parsian Choral Band" in cooperation with a number of youth singers of Shiraz in 1999. "Parsian Choral Band" has been a well-known musical group of Iran with several successful performances under the conduction of Maziar Atrian, and it achieved the second place of choral section of "Fajr Music Festival" in 2008. Maziar Atrian has started instructing music since 1998. He had cooperation with several musical institutes in Shiraz-Iran such as "Saba", "Mahoor" and "Zand-e-Bayat" as the instructor of Piano, Solfege and Music Theory for fourteen years. The results of which are several musicians who are playing in various orchestras, teaching piano in several music institutes or keep on studying music in different universities of various parts of the world. Most of the musical pieces which have been written by Maziar Atrian are composed in the field of vocal music. Some of which are included: "Ta Hamishe Ma" (for soprano, and piano), "Ta Shab" (for soprano, piano, and violin), "Parande Mordani Ast" (for soprano, and piano), "Rishe Dar Khak" (for tenor, piano, and cello), and "Shabe Tanha'ei-ye Khoob" (for choral band). In 2014, he moved to Northern California and started teaching music in San Jose soon after his arrival. Then he founded "Maziar Piano School" in collaboration with "Persian Cultural Club" in Campbell the same year. Maziar Atrian performed his first official concert in the United States in June 2015 at "Trianon Theatre" in San Jose.
