South Bay Deutscher Schulverein
South Bay Deutscher Schulverein is a German Saturday Language School established over 50 years in Silicon Valley. We are accredited and supported by the German Government and a Member of GASANC. We have classes from toddler to adult, 30 Saturdays a year.
We have classes from toddler to adult, 30 Saturdays a year. Most of our classes are in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Our faculty is experienced teachers from Germany, Switzerland and the US, selected both for their knowledge of German and teaching ability. German is spoken in the classroom as much as possible. Students are taught to read and write in German and are introduced German customs, history, culture, literature and songs. Toddler, preschool and kindergarten classes are taught German through rhymes, games, finger plays, stories, songs and art. Classes from first grade through high school focus on conversation along with reading comprehension and writing. We also offer test prep classes for DSD1, AP and DSD2.
As a school, we nurture our community through our weekly coffee table and library and through events, such as St. Martin, Christmas Party and Maifest.
Due to Covid, all our classes will currently meet online via Zoom.
