DaVinci Academy of Silicon Valley

DaVinci Academy of Silicon Valley DaVinci Academy's goal: Empower young students to become competent, confident learners and leaders. And we are still the Dragons!

A solid academic foundation, rich curriculum & personal attention generate a joy for learning as children grow in knowledge, confidence and character. After 34 years as a Delphi Academy, our licensing changed in 2020 to DaVinci Academy of Silicon Valley. We still offer a personalized, mastery-based education with our same student-centered philosophy, still go on weekly field trips, and still empower young people to become competent, confident learners and leaders.

Students are honored weekly at the Lower School Assembly for Levels K, 1 & 2! Here, we see Level 2 students receiving awards from Ms. Aina, as she announces a lot of the good work each student completed this past week. Parents attend in person and online, making this an extra special acknowledgment for the students. Another excellent week, Dragons! 🐉 🎉

The Dragon Chess Club practices after school with members ranging from Kindergarten students just starting out to upper elementary students intent on mastering the game. Beyond rules, strategies and algebraic notation (noting down the moves of their games) students also take on leadership roles and practice good sportsmanship. Go Dragons!

DaVinci Dragons are preparing for a great year!

Teachers hosted Parent Orientations in the classrooms all week, answering questions and helping everyone start the new school year briefed and ready for success! We loved all the conversations and great questions. DaVinci Academy is lucky to have such committed and engaged parents who partner with teachers to support every child.

Levels 1-5 hosted this past week. On Monday, Kindergarten and Middle School parents will have their turn. As always, Kidwatch is free for students during these important events.

A shout out to the teachers for their informative and detailed presentations! Did you spot your favorite teacher in the reel?

Kindergarten math! Such enjoyment for Ms. Anika’s lesson on geometric shapes. After the seminar, students explored three-dimensional shapes at their desks and completed worksheets together to show what they know.

Wondering how to find us on campus? It’s an easy and beautiful walk from the Campbell Ave. parking lot near the skate park.

Come down the path, past the Heritage Theater’s gorgeous fountains and find us! We occupy all of Building A, a two-story, stand-alone structure set on the Campbell Community Center campus.

Book a tour on our website: davincisv.org and take advantage of rolling admissions. Children may start in TK or K as early as age 4!

Kindergarteners practiced brushing following a seminar on dental hygiene. “Food” was drawn on the play teeth with a washable marker, and the students earnestly worked to clean them to a sparkle. “Also the tongue!” one exclaimed, brushing carefully.

Everyone took home new supplies, eager to keep their teeth clean every day. 🪥

DaVinci dragons gathered for an outdoor movie night on the field to watch the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, hosted by our friends, Campbell Recreation! What a fun way to end our second week of school. We love our community!

Two interesting animals came to visit DaVinci from Happy Hollow Park & Zoo - Happy Hollow! We first met Sal, a beautiful, calm Tiger Salamander who prefers to bury into soft, moist earth. Sal’s skin is so delicate that human skin oil would clog it up. Since he also breathes through his skin, touching him would be like giving him a stuffy nose!

Next we met two Hissing Cockroaches from Madagascar 🇲🇬 who could be touched on their chiton exoskeleton — though not everyone wanted to! Did you know that these cockroaches are among the cleanest and do not pass on diseases to humans? They have little mites on them that keep them extra clean. Students also learned how they defend themselves in the forest. When a group of cockroaches all hiss together, it can be as loud as a jet engine!

Thank you, Happy Hollow, for these fun lessons about biomimicry, habitat and clever defenses. We discovered that there’s a lot to learn from our animal friends!

Ms. Rachel’s music and voice classes are a weekly treat for all DaVinci students. Enjoy a snippet of the Level 2 & 3 choir singing a vocal warm up. It’s only the second lesson and they’re already sounding great!

An outdoor classroom can be full of great surprises! Levels 3 & 4 hiked at the reservoir on their first field trip of the new school year. Ms. Victoria shared her incredible knowledge of the environment and animal habitats, showing students how to respect nature. For many, it was their first time holding a baby lizard. Teachers made sure all creatures were released to the wild before students boarded the DaVinci bus back to school!
