Gina Lynn Ambrose 12/9/1949-11/16/2021. Gina passed away after a short battle with cancer. When she transitioned over the rainbow she was surrounded with love. She is survived by her devoted best friend of over 45 years Connie Mallory, her nephew John Lukin, and her 2 great nephews Holden and Nolan Lukin. She was cared for in the last months of her life by people who truly loved her. Gina had a gift of making people feel like the most special person in the world and if you were loved by Gina she always let you know how important you were to her.
Gina was the owner of Water Babies Swim School. She was so well know throughout the community and rarely were you out with her when she wasn’t running into a former student or parent who she had taught to swim. She was truly gifted with the ability to teach swimming and dearly loved all of her “water babies”. No one could teach a child to swim like Gina. She also swam competitively for many years and was an accomplished swimmer and business woman.
Gina will be greatly missed. She left her mark on many lives of those she taught to swim and those that loved her. We will miss her wonderful sense of humor, her kind and generous heart and that beautiful smile.
A celebration of her beautiful life will be held Sunday May 22, 2022 from 2-5 pm at Maki Swim School, (formerly Water Babies Swim School) 973 Apricot Ave, Campbell, CA 95008. This celebration will be held open house style. We would love you to come by and share your memories and celebrate Gina.

Hello Water Babies Families,
It saddens us to share that we lost our beloved teacher and original Water Baby, Gina Ambrose, on November 16, 2021. Gina was surrounded by family, close friends and lots of love as she made her transition.
Gina was such a special woman and a bright light. She brought smiles to everyone she met with her cheerful attitude and sharp sense of humor. A gifted swimmer, she harnessed her talents and business savvy to create a special place for children to come to play and have fun but more importantly to learn life saving skills and water safety. The demand for lessons and specifically lessons taught by Gina were overwhelming, we often had to spend significant time and be creative figuring out how to make sure each family got to spend some time with her each summer.
We understand she meant a great deal to many of you and your families, and encourage you to share your thoughts, stories and memories here. There will be a celebration of life held at Water Babies Swim School in the spring where you will all be invited to come and remember how she touched all of our lives.

A word from Gina Ambrose~
The Original owner of Water Babies Swim School, Gina Ambrose, has RETIRED. She is also retiring the Water Babies name for sentimental reasons. Water Babies was started by Gina's mother Gretchen Mack in 1950. Gina did not want the name to be in someone else's hands. Gina has lived her dream by teaching for 45 years, thousands of babies all around the world. Gina would like to THANK everyone for all the support, love and all the joy her "babies" have brought to her life throughout these years. She THANKS each and every one of you!!!

It may not seem like summer is around the corner with the rain that we were swimming in today but it really is! New session begins next week and starting next week we will be staying open later. Be sure to give us a call to get into our next session.
