We spend so much time warning our kids about the dangers of substances, yet spend little time teaching them how to manage their mental health so they can manage all that life brings.

We won’t ever be able to end substance abuse until we help people learn how to manage their minds and self-regulate their minds and nervous systems. We have to address the root not just the symptoms.

Dr. Nicole said is best: the “gateway” drug is childhood trauma and a unregulated mind.
