Walking the dog may look routine, but I never leave my safety to routine. I bring my big dog, my stun gun, my legally carried firearm...and, most importantly, my situational awareness.

The tools are backups. Paying attention is the first layer: head up, phone down, watch your surroundings, trust your instincts, and avoid trouble whenever possible.

Prepared doesn’t mean paranoid. It means I have a plan before I need one.

We wrapped up another SOLD-OUT Concealed Carry and Renewal class at Maryland Small Arms Range, and this is always my favorite moment.

Before our students ever step onto the range, Tony makes sure they’re prepared, comfortable, and confident in their fundamentals. That preparation pays off with a safer, smoother qualification—and a great experience for everyone.

I’m not judging anybody’s firearm choice…but if you call me and say, “Shani, I want a revolver,” you might hear a little “UGH” before I pull myself together. 😂

My biggest concern is capacity. Mine only holds five rounds, and if I’m dealing with more than one threat, five rounds may start feeling real lonely, real fast. For personal defense, I’m usually choosing something with a larger magazine.

But let’s start a friendly argument in the comments: Revolver fans, what am I missing? Would you trust five rounds for personal defense AND can you convince me to change my mind? 👀

Apparently, teaching women how to work with their nails is now “narrating for some ass.” 😂

Sir…Instructor Mike Tony has been married for 20-leven years. If this was his strategy, he’s playing a VERY long game. 🤣

But we appreciate the reaction, because now we get to say it louder: women don’t need a committee of men deciding what they should do with their nails, their fi****ms, or themselves. 💅🏾🔫
