During a recent session about leadership, the "Lean In" girls' group at Greater Johnstown Middle School was asked to name a leader and the quality they admire about them. Many of the girls chose their mothers for their strength and bravery, and some of the girls chose Crystal, their CISPA Community School Director. 🥹🥹

🎓🌟 CELEBRATING JILEEN 🌟🎓

Jileen, a graduating senior at William Penn High School, has big plans for her future! She is attending JobCorps after graduation and plans to continue her education and pursue a career in healthcare.

As a congratulations, CISPA provided her with supplies to live on her own, including cleaning, laundry, and household necessities. She is very excited about this journey and promises to update CISPA on her progress!

Anna, a graduating senior at Greater Johnstown High School, started her journey with Communities In Schools of Pennsylvania in middle school. She was struggling with her mental health and was referred to CISPA’s services. For years to come, the one-on-one relationships she developed with our team kept her going, all the way to graduation.

To celebrate the end of the school year, our school-based team members created special opportunities to recognize and reward students who committed to their studies, prioritized attendance, and made good decisions inside and outside of the classroom.👏

Thanks to a generous grant from the Aerie Real Foundation, the girls' empowerment group at McKinley Pre-K-8 recently had a self-care spa day! Their skin is GLOWING after rejuvenating, relaxing facials! 🌟 💆

Happy National Donut Day! 🍩 We DONUT know what we’d do without our school-based team members. Today, they received special deliveries, so they DONUT ever forget the difference they’re making!

There’s truly nothing better than a heartwarming note from a student! 💌

Krista, our CISPA Community Navigator at Greater Johnstown Elementary, recently received this drawing and note from a student, and it made her day!

Our board members support CISPA and the communities we serve in many ways! Recently, Alexis, our CISPA Community School Coordinator at Northwest Elementary School, needed a volunteer to assist with a field day. Morgan, CISPA's board secretary, stepped in to help and support the students...literally! 🏀

This Pride Month, Communities In Schools of Pennsylvania celebrates the power of belonging.

Every student deserves to feel safe, supported, and empowered to be their authentic self. Throughout the year, CISPA works alongside schools, families, and communities to help create environments where young people know they matter and have access to the support they need to reach their full potential.
