After an incredible 39 years at Trinity High School and 45 years of dedicated service in the Diocese of Harrisburg, we celebrate the retirement of one of Trinity's most beloved educators, Miss Lisbeth Shoemaker, affectionately known by generations of students as "Miss Shoe."

Throughout her career, Miss Shoemaker served as a cornerstone of our Social Studies Department, leading as Department Chair for many years and helping shape countless students both inside and outside the classroom. Many alumni will remember her as the moderator of PALs (Peers Actively Listening), Trinity's peer mentoring program that helped build community long before the House System was established.

While she taught a variety of courses throughout her career, Miss Shoe is perhaps best known for her freshman history classes, her legendary "fun packets," and the high expectations she held for every student. More importantly, she was known for the care and dedication she showed to those students—often staying long after the final bell to provide extra help, encouragement, and support to ensure they succeeded.

The impact Miss Shoemaker has had on Trinity is immeasurable. Thousands of Shamrocks have benefited from her wisdom, guidance, and unwavering commitment to Catholic education.

If you would like to share a retirement message with Miss Shoemaker, please email your notes to [email protected] or mail them to:

Please join us in thanking Miss Shoe for her remarkable 45 years of service and wishing her a happy, healthy, and well-deserved retirement! 💚☘️

Last Thursday, members of Seton House visited Harrisburg Catholic Elementary to deliver summer activity bags to kindergarten students.

This special service project was a true team effort, with all four houses working together to collect donations. Seton mentor groups assembled bags tailored for K–2 girls, K–2 boys, 3–5 girls, and 3–5 boys, ensuring each student received a fun-filled collection of summer treasures.

The visit was made even more memorable by the excitement on the kindergarteners’ faces as they received their bags. Students also joined in one of the kindergarten classes' favorite games, "Still as a Rock," creating smiles and memories for everyone involved.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our Trinity families who donated items and helped make this project possible. Your generosity allowed us to spread joy and support young students as they head into summer break.

Representing Trinity on the visit were Piper Butina '27, Ella Stager '27, Kiara DyReyes-Wuite '27, Sam Maury '27, and Jack Coble '27.

Last week, Mrs. Blayney’s Sports & Entertainment Marketing class had a special visit from two Marketing Managers with the Harrisburg Senators!

The guests spoke with students about their roles and responsibilities, how they began their careers with the Senators, and previous experiences working with other professional sports organizations. They also shared insights into their day-to-day work and the career goals they continue to pursue in the sports industry.

To commemorate Memorial Day, students in Mr. McGuire’s and Mrs. Pagliaro’s history classes had the privilege of hearing firsthand stories from six Vietnam Veterans during a special visit to the Trinity library. Students listened, asked questions, and learned about the experiences and sacrifices of those who served.

A sincere thank you to Vietnam veterans Joe Boslet, Rich Burton, Bob Kertulis, George Knoll, John Laskowski, and Patrick Owen for sharing their stories with our students. Mr. Owen also spent time speaking with Mrs. Poplaski’s AP U.S. History classes about his experiences serving in Vietnam.

We are grateful for their service and for the opportunity to help our students connect history to real-life experiences.

Mrs. Morisani’s Pre-Calculus classes have been busy wrapping up the school year with some fun and creative activities!

Students recently celebrated a belated Pi Day by bringing in a variety of pies to enjoy together during class. They also combined math and art by creating sand art designs using trigonometric graphs.

In addition, members of the U.S. Navy visited Trinity to give demonstrations and speak with students about how the mathematics they are learning in class is applied in real-world Navy careers and operations.

What a great way to end the year with creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning!

What a memorable final week for the Trinity High School Class of 2026!

Last week was filled with celebration, reflection, and special moments as our seniors closed out their journey at Trinity. Some of our graduates returned to their grade schools — St. Theresa and St. Joe’s — in their gowns to reconnect with teachers, staff, and students who helped shape their path.

On Wednesday, May 20, we celebrated the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 during Senior Awards. Congratulations to our Valedictorian, Joseph Smithmyer, and our Salutatorian, Kennedy Paul, on this outstanding achievement!

We then gathered on Thursday, May 21, for a beautiful Baccalaureate Mass, celebrating faith, gratitude, and the beginning of a new chapter. The week concluded with a wonderful Graduation Ceremony on May 22 as we officially sent off the Class of 2026.

Congratulations, graduates! Thank you for the legacy you leave here at Trinity through your leadership, faith, friendships, and achievements. We are so proud of all you have accomplished and cannot wait to see where your next chapter takes you.

Once a Shamrock, always a Shamrock!
