SHAMROCK SHOUT-OUT to Tim Hickey '14 and Katie Hickey '11!
We're proud to recognize alumni siblings Tim and Katie Hickey for making a difference in the lives of children and families.
On June 18, Tim will step into the ring at the Chicago History Museum to support the Evergreen Children's Foundation. Making this effort even more meaningful, Tim is fighting on behalf of a cause close to home—his sister Katie's. Katie serves on the Emerging Leaders Board of the Bounce Children's Foundation, which has been selected as one of this year's event grantees.
It's inspiring to see Shamrock alumni giving back and supporting organizations that make a positive impact in their communities. Best of luck to Tim as he fights for a great cause, and thank you both for your commitment to helping children and families in need!

Today, we are proud to spotlight another one of our wonderful Trinity legacy families as we celebrate the Class of 2026!
Meet Melissa Briggs Mann ’94, Mother of Gavin Mann ’26 and Ethan Mann ’26.
Why Trinity?
“Trinity was the best choice for my children to receive a Catholic faith-based education and the ability to experience competitive sports and clubs in an environment that fosters creativity, passion, and standards that help teens develop into successful young men and women. Grateful my boys had these past four years to become the amazing young leaders they are today. Their friendships and peers have been some of the most important friendships, and I am so grateful and proud of them.”
What have been some of Gavin and Ethan’s best experiences at Trinity?
“For Gavin, being a part of the Football team has driven him to become more determined, confident, and driven both on and off the field. Supporting his teammates to win championships and making it to states. Gavin has also appreciated the opportunity to play lacrosse with excellent coaches, teammates providing him to new opportunities within his teams. He became an extraordinary minister at school and church. Trinity has helped foster his faith. He appreciated Decca, which has helped advance his leadership skills, and finally going out for the school musical. The last two years have strengthened his musical abilities. Ethan gained new confidence, drive, and appreciation for football from early and long practices, team meals, and Friday night lights were always a favorite. Learning lacrosse and trying track his senior year, and rallying with his teammates for championships for both football and lax. Ethan joined several clubs, including the Patriots and Entrepreneur clubs. Both my sons have grown stronger in their faith and their character. We are very blessed and grateful of both our boys.”
What are some of the differences between your time at Trinity and Gavin and Ethan’s?
“A few of the differences in Trinity High School now from when I went there is they added lacrosse and wrestling, COBO Football field, an updated auditorium, and air-conditioning, just to name a few!”

This week, we are proud to spotlight another one of our wonderful Trinity legacy families as we celebrate the Class of 2026!
Meet Steve Aschenbrenner ’95, father of Lauren Aschenbrenner ’26.
Why Trinity?
“I chose Trinity for Lauren because of the great academics and great teachers! But mostly because of the God aspect at Trinity. There is a lack of God in our world today, and I love that Lauren could be in an atmosphere daily where God and Faith is still a priority. My parents were big influences in this decision. They believed strongly in Catholic education and put all 5 kids through Trinity! It’s been a long line of Aschenbrenner’s through Trinity. My older sister Laura graduated back in 1988, and now Lauren is graduating 38 years later! Also the fact that so many teachers have been there for so many years speaks volumes. Lauren had teachers that taught me 31 years ago - Mr. Blackledge, Miss Shoemaker, Miss Kiker, and Mr. Geisel. Trinity prepares you academically, personally, and spiritually for the future! Those are all reasons why I chose Lauren to be a Shamrock!”
What have been some of Lauren’s best experiences at Trinity?
“Lauren enjoyed the paint wars, playing volleyball and softball, going to the football and basketball games, making NHS, and visiting Miss Kiker in her classroom.”
What are some of the differences between your time at Trinity and Lauren’s?
“The biggest difference I would say has to be air conditioning. I know this was a long time coming for Trinity, and Lauren got to experience a nice air conditioned school. Also the new wrestling and volleyball gyms were built during her time there. I had chalk boards and erasers in my day, and now it’s all smart boards. Having the nice turf football field and tennis courts right on campus is awesome. Football games during my years were played on City Island! Nice new auditorium and a nice big weight room.”
After graduation, Lauren will continue her education and join her sister Allie at Penn State University this fall!
Congratulations to the Aschenbrenner family, and thank you for continuing the Trinity tradition across generations!

This week, we are proud to spotlight another one of our wonderful Trinity legacy families as we celebrate the Class of 2026!
Meet Angela Chiara ‘94, mother of Nicholas Chiara ‘26
Why Trinity?
“I wanted him to learn about God and to be able to celebrate God in his life.”
What have been some of Nicholas’ best experiences at Trinity?
“He has made lifetime friends. Homecoming and Prom”
What are some of the differences between your time at Trinity and Nicholas’?
“Technology! I used a typewriter. Air conditioning! The teachers are more flexible and open-minded now.”
What advice would you give to the Class of 2026?
“Success is not measured by titles, money, or status. The way you treat people will always matter more. Be compassionate. Be kind when no one is watching. Listen to people who feel unheard. Choose integrity over popularity and purpose over profit. Money can make life easier, but it cannot replace character, relationships, or peace of mind. The world already has enough people trying to be important; it needs more people trying to be good. At the end of your life, people will not remember what you owned nearly as much as how you made them feel.”
After graduation, Nicholas will attend Shippensburg University, where he plans to major in Psychology.
Congratulations to the Chiara family, and thank you for continuing the Trinity tradition across generations!

This week, we are proud to spotlight one of our wonderful Trinity legacy families as we celebrate the Class of 2026!
Meet John Kramer ’92, father of John “Jack” Kramer ’26.
Why Trinity?
“We chose Trinity for Jack’s academic and spiritual growth. While the academics provide a strong foundation for college, the supportive community and faith formation are the influences that will shape him into the person he’s meant to be.”
What have been some of Jack’s best experiences at Trinity?
“While Jack appreciates the strong academic and spiritual foundation he received, his best experiences have been the lifelong friendships and unique memories forged at Trinity. Also, his Kairos experience left a lasting impression on his perspective and his faith.”
What are some of the differences between your time at Trinity and Jack’s?
“Beside the updated auditorium, COBO Field, and uniforms, I think all THS alumni of a certain age agree the biggest change is air conditioning. These kids will never understand the character-building experience of tackling trigonometry in a dress shirt and dress pants during an 85-degree September heat spell!”
What advice would you give to the Class of 2026?
“Keep showing up and putting in the work, especially on the days it's especially hard. Don't be afraid to question the answers, and try to see every challenge as a chance to grow. It’s those hard moments that really build your strength and character.”
After graduation, Jack will attend Shippensburg University, where he plans to major in Marketing.
Congratulations to the Kramer family, and thank you for continuing the Trinity tradition across generations!

SHAMROCK GIVING BACK...Grace Verano ’22, returned to the Music Department today to share how her singing background supports her training as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Trinity alumna, Grace Verano ’22, returned to the Music Department today to share how her singing background supports her training as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Grace spoke with students about the vocal mechanism and how music can play an important role in speech recovery and therapy following a stroke, traumatic brain injury, or surgery, as well as for individuals experiencing speech difficulties related to autism, Parkinson’s disease, or ALS.
We are always proud to see our Shamrocks using the knowledge and passion they developed at Trinity to make a difference in the world.
