Mitchell County Middle School

There was a gentle overcast, just enough to keep the weather cool and comfortable at The MCSS Homecoming Parade. The temperature felt just right, the atmosphere was full of excitement, and The Middle was proudly represented by our football and flag football players, volleyball players, cheerleaders, band members, MCSS and MCMS Teacher of the Year, and our Homecoming Royal Court.

With plenty of waves, smiles, enthusiasm, and Eagle pride, we were proud to be a part of a tradition that brings our schools and community together.

Our students looked sharp, confident, and professional for Dress for Success Day. Although their career aspirations may change several times along the way, it was wonderful to see them dreaming about who they want to become and imagining the possibilities for their future.

The Homecoming Coronation was truly a treat for the nominees, students, parents, and staff. From the beautiful ambiance to the unforgettable presentation, every detail came together to create an occasion that was nothing short of extraordinary.

Our kings were chivalrous and dapper, and our queens had grace and beauty. It was a magnificent celebration, so elegant and breathtaking that it deserved to be more than a fleeting moment but to linger in our memories and in our hearts for years to come.

We are incredibly proud of each of our nominees. They are all wonderful representatives of The Middle
Congratulations 6th Grade Queen Kassidy Armstrong and 6th Grade King Winthrop Murray, 7th Grade Queen Khloe Harvey and 7th Grade King Noah Jones, and 8th Grade Queen Ra'Nazri Middlebrook and 8th Grade King Tyler Brown.

This wasn’t your typical school voting experience!

The voting area was set up much like a polling location. Students stepped into the voting booths, excited to make their selections and cast their votes for the candidates of their choice. It was wonderful to see them take part in an experience that went beyond choosing the Royal Court, but it also gave them a glimpse into civic participation, decision-making, and the importance of making their voices heard.

For a generation that never had to wait for their favorite song to come on the radio to hear their favorite song, dial a rotary phone, drop the needle on a record, rewind a VHS tape, or make a mixtape, they sure knew how to bring the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s back to life!

Students stepped onto campus looking like Tupac, Run-DMC, and Aaliyah, as if they had been born 40 years ago and experienced the era firsthand!

From big gold hoop earrings and oversized jerseys to bucket hats and afros, the throwback looks were everywhere. Some students and faculty even took us back a little further, with sharp suits that gave us Motown vibes and dresses that looked like they had stepped right out of a classic black-and-white sitcom. Our Eagles definitely understood the assignment!

❤️💙 Eagle Families, 💙❤️
Our students have made their voices heard, and votes have been cast! Tomorrow, join us as our student body witnesses the crowning of the King and Queen of each grade level during our Homecoming Coronation Ceremony.

While our students’ votes determined the outcome, this special ceremony gives them the opportunity to celebrate and witness the results of their voices.

We warmly invite our families to join us for this special celebration as we honor our students and share in the excitement of our Homecoming Coronation! ❤️💙

Attention, Eagle Families!❤️💙🦅
We would like to share an update to our Homecoming Dress days.

Tuesday: In support of our Coronation and Crowning Ceremony, students should Dress for Success.

Thursday: Students can participate in Twin, Triplets, and Squad Day by dressing alike with their friends.

Students who choose not to participate in the Homecoming Dress days should wear their regular school uniform.

We apologize for the change and appreciate your patience and continued support. Thank you for helping us make Homecoming week a memorable one for our Eagles!

Happy Homecoming Eagles ❤️💙🦅
