Our 2025–2026 Grades 3–12 Georgia Milestones data gives us so much to celebrate across Mitchell County School System! From strong gains in math and science to students outperforming RESA and state averages, our Eagles continue to show what is possible when we work together with a shared focus on student success. ❤️💙

Tonight, while our Football and JV Volleyball Teams were winning on the field and court, our administrators and teachers were scoring victories of their own at the Mitchell County Board of Education Work Session. The Middle began their presentation with the tossing of a football, which set the stage for a conversation focused on the academic progress our students have made, strengthening literacy school-wide, and the work ahead to continue moving our scholars forward. From athletics to academics, there is always a game plan at The Middle, and our Eagles are playing to win!

What was supposed to be our first Home Game Day became a Rainy Day instead. However, yesterday's game was rescheduled for today at 5:00 PM. Come out, bring the family, and help us pack MCHS stadium as The Middle takes on Lee East! Let's go Eagles!

Just like our students, educators have assignments to complete as well! This year at The Middle, we’re taking on a novel that every student and adult will participate in reading.

At the beginning of the week, each adult was given a novel and asked to go ahead and start reading. And let me tell you… we were caught! 😂📖

Caught reading by someone in our families, whether we were outside enjoying the sunshine, riding in the car, spending time with our grands, relaxing in the living room, reading before bed, or simply enjoying a quiet moment in our very own libraries.

We’re not just asking our students to be lifelong readers. We’re modeling it for them. This year, we’re reading together, learning together, and creating a culture where books are a part of everyone’s journey.

Because reading is more than an assignment, it’s an experience ! ❤️📚
