The other day I wrote about how much I like shirts with sayings on them. This is one of my favorite tanks to wear. Whenever I wear it, I get lots of random comments.

My response is always something along the lines of "being a mom of teenagers means I have to be my own hype man". At this point in my life, I am really not wanting to be a "cool mom", in their eyes.

I actually feel "cool" by letting them fail. By letting them figure things out, as it isn't going to be long and they will be out there in this big 🌎 and they will have to be responsible, respectful and use their own resources. (Thank you United North Elementary!)

To all you "cool" moms and dads out there, keep doing your thing, even though your teenagers thing you are SO NOT COOL.

Do your children ever “screw around” and break things? The slang term “screw around” means to engage in unproductive activity or to play around with the objective being to have fun or tease someone else. “Screw around” has other meanings as well.
Today my teenaged sons were screwing around and ending up breaking the door off the hinges.

On Friday night my students and I enjoyed learning the vocabulary words for Christmas tree decorations. We then decorated a tree through the art of digital media and ended class with a singalong 🎶 of Jingle Bells 🔔.

Today I attended my nephew’s birthday party. His mom said “Say how old you are!” My nephew then said “how old you are!” This made me realize how often we use words like “say” and “tell” and how the directions that accompany those words can be confusing.
