Cameron Elementary School Cameron School began as a wooden structure in 1907. This building remained until 1982, when the present structure was added.

In 1927, a three-story brick structure replaced the 1907 building and held grades 1-12. In 1964, when Union Pines High School was built, Cameron Elementary became a K-8 school. Cameron Elementary became a K-5 campus in 1997 when New Century Middle School was built. Today, Cameron Elementary School contains kindergarten through fifth grade. All students attend art, music, physical education, media, and guidance classes weekly. We also have reading intervention, AIG, and an Exceptional Children's program. Cameron Elementary is a small, family-style school. We have approximately 250 students, with 2 classes per grade level. We have a community and PTA that is actively involved in our school. Our volunteers help promote the love of learning and work with our students to develop life-long learners. We provide an after-school care program for our students which runs until 6:00 p.m.

The last seven days have been JAM PACKED!

Last Friday was our PTA sponsored Fall Festival. What an amazing turnout from our families and community. A special thank you to the PTA members, staff, and volunteers that helped out!

On Wednesday we participated in the Union Pines Homecoming Parade in Carthage. It was great to see our students and families as we rode around!

To cap it off, tomorrow is the first day of our Fall Book Fair. The book fair will run through next week and a portion of each purchase will go directly towards supporting our library and students.

All of this while CRUSHING it academically and in the classroom!

Keep it up, Scots!

What a busy week for our Scots! Thank you to the more than 50 grandparents that showed up for Goodies with Grandparents! All students enjoyed a snack and quality time with the grandparents.

We ended the week with author of Be The Acorn, Jason Douglas Griffin, speaking to and drawing for our K-2 students. It was a blast!

Our theme this year is superheroes because we all have our own awesome powers but as a team we are unstoppable! Our staff and students have been beyond “super” in our first week and a half of school!

We capped off today with our Back to School Night Passport drawing which resulted in 10 lucky students winning a snack from the cafeteria or prizes from our prize box.

Since we had such a fantastic turnout we will do another drawing in the near future. Stay tuned!
