In 1927, a three-story brick structure replaced the 1907 building and held grades 1-12. In 1964, when Union Pines High School was built, Cameron Elementary became a K-8 school. Cameron Elementary became a K-5 campus in 1997 when New Century Middle School was built. Today, Cameron Elementary School contains kindergarten through fifth grade. All students attend art, music, physical education, media,
and guidance classes weekly. We also have reading intervention, AIG, and an Exceptional Children's program. Cameron Elementary is a small, family-style school. We have approximately 250 students, with 2 classes per grade level. We have a community and PTA that is actively involved in our school. Our volunteers help promote the love of learning and work with our students to develop life-long learners. We provide an after-school care program for our students which runs until 6:00 p.m.
