UPHS Families,
Tomorrow is the big day! We will open our doors at 8:30am to students. Some gentle reminders:

-Please do not walk your student into the building or around the campus. We will take care of them and get them where they need to be tomorrow.
-If you are pulling into our campus, don’t forget that Viking Drive will be closed. All car riders need to enter through the Stadium Entrance or the Grady Road/Back Entrance.
-The gravel lot at the front of the school is for student parking only- please do not enter this parking lot to ensure our student drivers are able to get in and out safely.

Also, hot off of the press, from our Athletic Director Nate Harrington:
“Due to incoming inclement weather, our JV Football Game against Pinecrest High School has been moved to tomorrow, August 26th! Our gates will open at 5:30pm and kick off will take place at 6:30pm. A decision regarding the Varsity game will be made tomorrow morning by 10:00am. We will communicate any updates as soon as a decision has been made.”

Speaking of Athletics, we need your help! Our Booster Club needs volunteers to work the concession stand. If you can help us, please sign up by clicking on the link within the comments. Shoutout to our Booster Club for allowing us to use cash or card- whatever is easiest for you- just come hungry and they will take care of you! Viking Families, this is coming to you this evening via phone and email:

UPHS Families,
I have 3 important updates for you tonight:

1. The 1st Day of School is this Wednesday, August 26th. Our doors open each morning at 8:30am and 1st period begins promptly at 8:45am. Breakfast is available in the cafeteria. Please do not forget to turn in your child’s free and reduced lunch form if needed. UPHS is not designated as a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) School meaning all students must pay for breakfast and lunch unless a free & reduced lunch form has been turned in to and approved by the Child Nutrition Department.

2. UPHS Traffic Pattern (see attached map/picture below)- this is a big one! For the car rider line, if you are coming from the Whispering Pines area on Sandhills Farmlife Road– take JOEL ROAD to Union Church Road. This will allow you to turn left onto Union Church Road and then turn right by our STADIUM ENTRANCE. Please note that LEFT TURNS into our STADIUM ENTRANCE are not permitted during morning drop off and pick up. Please review the maps we have below that show our two entry ways for arrival and dismissal of car riders (STADIUM ENTRANCE & GRADY ROAD). The main entry way to UPHS (aka VIKING DRIVE) will be CLOSED.

3. Our 1st Parent Newsletter is linked below. Mrs. Haywood, one of our Assistant Principals, has filled this newsletter with all school related information. If you have a question about “Life at UPHS,” this would be the best place to start.

Each athlete is expected to have one concession shift covered for every sport they play throughout the school year. Concessions are a huge part of how the Booster Club supports our athletes and programs.

It's Game Day! Kick-Off is at 7:30pm. Come out after back-to-school night and cheer on the Vikings as they take on the Westover Wolverines. Everyone will enter through our main stadium gate for tonight's contest. Tickets are $10 cash or through GoFan (plus convenience fees)

As our JV Vikings get ready to take the field for their first home game of the season, we’re incredibly grateful to Nana & Papa for providing today’s meal and helping make game day a little more special for them.

It takes a lot of people behind the scenes to make a football season happen, and support like this means more than you know.
