The UPRT Network’s Accredited Primary Instructor (API) and Spin Accredited Instructor (SAI) designations give CFIs an opportunity to demonstrate training and proficiency beyond the minimum certification requirements. These credentials recognize instructors who are committed to improving their knowledge of aircraft control, stalls, spins and upset prevention. They also show students, flight schools and fellow instructors that the CFI values recurrent training and continued professional development.
The API designation helps CFIs incorporate stronger upset-prevention concepts into everyday instruction, including energy management, stall recognition, coordination and sound decision-making. The SAI designation identifies experienced CFIs who have demonstrated the knowledge, judgment and flight proficiency needed to provide meaningful spin training consistent with FAA guidance and UPRT Network standards.
