If you haven’t read from the Bible lately, or ever … or as an adult, I encourage you to do so today.
If you want to learn about perseverance, because life can be so challenging, read Job, or study the life of Abraham in Genesis.
If you want to work on your compassion: read the New Testament and study about the life of Jesus … or read the words of Paul in 1 Corinthians 13.
If you want to know how to worship God, read the book of Psalms; out loud.
If you want to understand the tumultuous days we are living in, and why “things” are only temporarily bringing you joy: study the words of Jeremiah, and most importantly, the words of Isaiah - the parallels are significant. When you read, compare yourself to being a member of ancient Israel and see the world come alive.
If the world is getting to be too much for you, read 2 Corinthians 4:17-17:
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, workers for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
- remember, the things which are not seen can only be accessed through God … connect with Him and a new world will be opened up to you.
Sending prayers to all my people, that you will open up your scriptures daily, and take in the peace that money cannot buy. 🙏🏼
