The Kiwanis Club of Camdenton recognized young 3rd and 4th-grade leaders in the Camdenton R-III School District as Terrific Kids for the fourth quarter. Terrific Kids are selected each quarter by their teacher for their outstanding attitude about school, practicing leadership and good citizenship, and working to the best of their ability.

Terrific is an acronym for: Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive, and Capable.

As a reminder, our last day of school will be Thursday, May 21. This will also be an early dismissal day.

One special student had a one of a kind recognition for the school year! He received perfect attendance for his 3rd and 4th grade years at Hawthorn! What an achievement! 🎉

Yesterday we had the honor of recognizing our academic achievers and outstanding leaders for the month of May and the 2025-2026 school year! We are so proud of our students and we love celebrating their academic success and character growth!

The Camdenton R-III School District would like to recognize Addilyn Blankenbeker as the Smith & Gustafson Law Firm Student of the Week. Addilyn is a fourth-grader at Hawthorn Elementary - Camdenton.

Addilyn's teacher says, "Addilyn is an outstanding fourth-grade student who consistently demonstrates maturity and natural leadership. She seeks opportunities to volunteer for extra duties and completes every task with a positive attitude. What is most impressive is her innate ability to mentor others; Addilyn can often be found patiently and kindly guiding a struggling peer. As an attentive listener who follows directions, she is a role model for responsibility and respect. Her enthusiasm and compassion make her not just a great student but a positive force at Hawthorn."

Hawthorn's Staff Champions of the Month are Mrs. Neusche and Ms. Larimer 💜💛🎉

Mrs. Neusche and Ms. Larimer are great assets to our school. They provide our staff and students with solid support and knowledge to do what is best for everyone. They are a smiling face each morning, a kind word when needed, a listening ear, a sounding board and much more. They are always ready to help in any situation. Their counseling groups are a favorite amongst many students and they have created many meaningful tools we all use each day. Their lessons are so valuable for helping students to be successful. They are the rock and foundation of our culture and school and we are so blessed to have them!
