What a morning! The whole Laker team came together one last time before summer break for breakfast and to celebrate all our wins this year.

As always, the most fun part of the morning was honoring our wonderful retirees! Congratulations to each of you, and thank you for a lifetime of leaving a legacy.

The Camdenton R-III School District would like to recognize Emily Thomas as the Smith & Gustafson Law Firm Student of the Week. Emily is a third-grader at Hawthorn Elementary - Camdenton.

Emily's teacher says, "Emily comes to school every day ready to learn, follow directions, and is so kind to others. She is always very eager to learn new things. Emily always tries her best, and even when something is hard, she never gives up. I know I can rely on Emily to answer questions as she is always paying attention."

At this morning's meeting, Debbie Wright was selected to fill the vacancy on the Camdenton R-III School District Board of Education. Debbie will serve a one-year term running through April 2027.

The momentum is building for our Branding Committee! This week, we reached another major milestone by narrowing down the official "C" lettermark to a few final design options. This process has been driven by your feedback, and now the final decision is with the community. In the coming days, we will be launching a district-wide vote so that all stakeholders, including students, staff, families, and community members, can select their favorite design.

Our ultimate goal throughout this entire journey is to have all Lakers pulling in the same direction. By standardizing our official "C" lettermark and our vibrant purple and gold color codes, we are creating a unified, consistent visual identity that will be used across every single department, school, and team in the district.

Today, we are giving a massive shout-out to our incredible school Speech-Language Pathologists!

From helping our youngest learners find their words to helping older students build the confidence to speak up in class, our SLPs work magic every day.

Join us in thanking them for their endless patience and unwavering dedication to our students' success. We are so lucky to have them on our team!

Purple and gold filled Bob Shore Stadium last night as the Class of 2026 celebrated a milestone years in the making. Camdenton is built on tradition, pride, and the people who make this place special, and the Class of 2026 added their own chapter to that story. From kindergarten hallways to the graduation stage, they have left a mark that will be remembered for years to come. We will always be cheering them on. Once a Laker, always a Laker.
