Our students are having so much fun exploring music in a whole new way! In music this week, Mrs. Laster is playing different clips of music, and students are listening before drawing a line to represent what they hear.
It’s a creative way to connect music, movement, listening, and art while encouraging students to think about how music makes them feel and what they hear. We love seeing their creativity come to life!

Learning to Keep Our Library Tidy!
This week, our students continued learning about important library rules and expectations while having a little fun along the way! After reading Tidy by Emily Gravett, students put the lesson into action by helping clean up and tidy our library space.

It was a great reminder that we all play a part in taking care of our library and keeping it a welcoming place for everyone!

Pine Tree Hill Beta Club Recognized as a School of Merit!

We are proud to share that the Pine Tree Hill Elementary School Beta Club was recognized at the Kershaw County School District Board Meeting for earning the distinction of National Beta School of Merit!

This special honor was awarded by National Beta Club Headquarters in recognition of our school’s commitment to academic achievement, leadership, character, and service.

At Pine Tree Hill, all eligible grade levels are represented in Beta Club. Fourth and fifth grade students have the opportunity to participate in this service organization, where they are encouraged to grow as leaders, serve others, and make a positive impact in our school and community.

We are incredibly proud of our Beta Club members and the way they represent Pine Tree Hill with excellence. Congratulations to our students for this outstanding achievement and for continuing to build a legacy of leadership!

Celebrating Our Bullpups!

We LOVE celebrating students who are making a difference at Pine Tree Hill! Kindness matters. Positive choices matter AND celebrating each other matters!

Our bulletin boards are shining a spotlight on students who have received Positive Referrals and those who have been given a special Shout-Out by a peer or teacher!
These students are being recognized for showing kindness, demonstrating leadership, making positive choices, helping others, working hard, and being the kind of Bullpup who makes our school a better place.

Each Friday afternoon our bulletin boards get changed out with Hall of Fame students!
We are so proud of these students and the positive example they are setting for others. We can't wait to see what new faces will be up there at the end of this week! Keep shining, Bullpups—we see you, we appreciate you, and we are cheering you on!

Fifth grade readers were busy diving into the world of literature last week! Teachers turned their classrooms into a cafe. Students explored the differences between poetry and prose while becoming literary detectives as we identified a variety of literary genres. It was exciting to see students thinking critically, making connections, and discovering all the different ways authors tell amazing stories. This is just the beginning of a fantastic year of reading adventures!
