Women’s History Wednesday: Dr. Lena Frances Edwards was a Jersey City physician who was the first African American woman to be board certified as an obstetrician-gynecologist. The South Jersey Institute for Population Health has awarded $350,000 for research projects in the Southern New Jersey region. These research teams include professionals from community-based organizations, Rowan University, and Rutgers University -Camden.
